  • Slaven Bilic won’t rest players in Europa League qualifying clash

West Ham to lead Astra at half-time and over 1.5 goals

There’s Europa League qualifying action to look forward to on Thursday evening, and hosts West Ham United’s second leg rumble with Romanian club Astra Giurgiu is the match from which we’ve selected our latest bet of the day.

There’s value to be had with odds of 13/5 for West Ham to lead Astra at half-time and over 1.5 goals at that point, as the Irons continue their continental adventures, and it’s a tip that certainly tickles our fancy.

So, read on for more reasons to back this bet of the day dabble from a generous half-time result and over/under market…

West Ham United v AFC Bournemouth - Premier League - London Stadium

Bilic’s boys buoyant after Bournemouth

West Ham will expect to ace this second leg encounter at their new digs in the Olympic Stadium, and have won both home games so far this season in all competitions.

The Romanian Black Devils arrive just after the Hammers helped themselves to a victory against Bournemouth in their first Premier League game at home after the stadium switch.

To boot, Croatian boss Slaven Bilic has confirmed he will not field a weakened side against the visiting Astralii, stating: “We will put out the strongest possible side as we want to qualify. Maybe one of Dimitri Payet and Manuel Lanzini will be on the bench.

“We got a good result in the first leg. If we want to qualify we have to beat Astra at home. I expect us to win.”

West Ham United Training and Press Conference - UEFA Europa League - Rush Green

If one or both of playmakers Payet and Lanzini can return it would certainly be a boost, but Bilic’s boys have enough firepower to ease past these opponents, as Astra have recorded just one win in eight across all competitions this campaign.

There have been over 1.5 goals scored in all but one Hammers game this season so far, with the Irons also hammering previous Europa League qualifying competitors Domzale 3-0 on home turf, with two strikes arriving in the opening 45.

So, swoop for those 13/5 odds for West Ham to lead Astra at half-time and over 1.5 goals!
