Bet of the Day: Palace to slow, but not halt, Man City’s charge
Citizens look for 19th straight win
Manchester City look unstoppable right now, and the Citizens are bidding to extend their victorious streak away at Crystal Palace.
Pep Guardiola’s men are as good as uncatchable at the top of the Premier League, but that won’t stop the Spaniard demanding another three points at Selhurst Park.
Palace are vastly improved under Roy Hodgson, but suffered their first defeat in nine games last time out versus Arsenal.
This is the middle of three games in six days for City though, so Guardiola may rotate the squad.
That could stunt the visitors’ usual destructive momentum a touch, so Coral’s Bet of the Day is Man City to win and under 3.5 goals at 7/5.
Slow starting Eagles
Palace boss Hodgson still needs to improve his squad, particularly at the back. They’re yet to keep a clean sheet at Selhurst this season.
They were slow to get going against Arsenal, and City could be out to gain an early advantage.
The 8/11 on Pep’s men to win the first half appeals, as does Man City/Man City on the Half-Time/Full-Time at 5/6.
Don’t expect another City route
City haven’t found it easy going in South London in recent years. They needed an 83rd-minute winner from Yaya Toure last season, and a 90th-minute strike from Kelechi Ihaenacho to bag the points in 2015-16.
With another relatively narrow City win in store, the correct score angle could prove fruitful.
As for a goalscorer, look no further than Raheem Sterling.
The Englishman’s winner over Newcastle was his 13th of the Premier League campaign and fourth in three games. Sterling is 11/8 to score in another City victory.
