Bet of the Day: Trump to breeze past Wenbo in the Masters

Nick Murphy | 15 January 2018

Action continues at Alexandra Palace

Judd Trump and Liang Wenbo go head-to-head this evening for a place in the Masters’ quarter-finals.

Tonight’s showdown is already the second meeting between the pair in 2018.

Trump prevailed 3-0 when the two cue-masters met last week in the Championship League. That was the Juddernaut’s third straight win against Wenbo.

He should get the better of the out-of-form Chinese potter once again in North London. Today’s Coral Bet of the Day is Trump to Win with a -2.5 Handicap at 19/20.

Wenbo will put up a fight

Despite Trump’s dominance against Wenbo, the 30-year-old won’t go down without a fight.

He pushed Ronnie O’Sullivan all the way in the first round of last year’s tournament. While in 2016 he took four frames of John Higgins, also in the first round.

Wenbo has the ability to nick a couple of frames, which should mean the match goes Over 8.5 frames at 4/7.

Correct Score could pay

Taking all of those past performances into account, it could be worth having a look at the correct scoreline market.

The Coral News Team are expecting a to-and-fro contest, with Trump set to break away in the closing stages. It’s 9/2 for the Bristolian potter to claim a 6-3 victory.
