Jim Crowley “I would not swap him for any other horse in the race”
3.00 Newmarket – Jash
I am really looking forward to riding him again. He’s unbeaten in his two starts so far but this is obviously a big step up in class to Group One company. I was very impressed with him last time. He has won on the July Course which is very similar to the Rowley Mile. Obviously Ten Sovereigns is very highly regarded for Aidan O’Brien and is the odds-on favourite but I am hopeful of a big run from my horse.
3.40 Newmarket – Alfarris
My horse is vying for favouritism with Wissahickon in the Cambridgeshire. He has had a great season so far. I won on him at Glorious Goodwood and then last time out I felt he was a little bit unlucky at York as Pivoine had first run on him. Maybe it was a blessing in disguise as he would have gone up the weights more. The trip is perfect and he looks to be exactly the right type of horse for this race. He will like the ground and the draw is good. I would not swap him for any other horse in the race. I won the Cambridgeshire back in 2010 on board Credit Swap and hopefully I can get my second success here with Alfarris.
4.15 Newmarket – Maqsad
She’s a lovely horse who has a great pedigree and was an expensive foal. William Haggas’ two year olds have been in great form. I have sat on her at home and she goes quite nicely so we are hopeful of a nice debut run on the track,
6.15 Chelmsford – Anaakeed
Owen Burrows’ horses are absolutely flying at the moment. She is stepping up in trip here from 1m to 1m2f. She has only had three runs and this will be her handicap debut. Off the mark she has been given, I think she is more than good enough to win the race.
6.45 Chelmsford – Mutarabby
He’s another horse who has a great chance. He was a little unlucky the last time he was at this track as he was only beaten by a neck. Saeed bin Suroor has decided to put the visor on for the first time. I like him and I think he should be good enough to win here.
7.15 Chelmsford – Salateen
I have won on this horse before. He is a front runner who likes it around this track. This is his best trip so I can only be confident about his chances here.
7.45 Chelmsford – Wohileh
She has been very consistent with three second place finishes so far. I think she is going to have to step up on what she has shown though as the John Gosden horse, Petit Palais, looks strong here. Hopefully she can be in the mix though.
8.45 Chelmsford – Good Business
It is nice of my agent to book me ride a ride in the last race of the evening. Hopefully it is worth it though as this horse looks to have a great chance. He has a handy draw and he is back a track he has done so well at before.
3.05 Epsom – Ganayem
This is a really nice filly who won nicely at Nottingham and Goodwood earlier in the season. She was a little out of her depth at Royal Ascot last time but she is back down to a level where he can excel at so I expect her to have a great chance.
4.45 Epsom – Central City
This horse has been in good form as he has been successful in his last two starts. Ian Williams does well with these kind of horses so hopefully I can end the weekend with a victory here.
