Almeria no pushover but Ronaldo can command another Real win
Following their win against Sociedad, Real Madrid’s generous backline has conceded in 11 of their 14 matches this season and Almeria should be backed to score this evening.
Almeria pose a goal threat now that they have finally found their feet in La Liga.
Francisco Rodriguez’s side were promoted last year but began their season by picking up just three points (from draws) out of a possible 30.
However they have won their last three matches – including a fine 2-1 away win at Valencia – and fans will be encouraged by the words of their top goal-scorer Rodri.
Bet on Rodri to score anytime at 7/2
The seven-goal forward said “Real Madrid are not invincible. They have two legs and two arms like us, and we can give them a scare.”
Rodri is worth backing at 7/2 to score at anytime, in a market which is inevitably dominated by the Real Madrid superstars and their bandleader Christiano Ronaldo.
Fresh from an international hat-trick in the Ibrahimovich v Ronaldo showdown, the Portuguese wizard is on an unbelievable goalscoring run.
He has scored 66 goals in 2013 including five hat-tricks for club and country and is 5/1 to repeat the feat once again.
Ronaldo has actually netted two or more goals in eight of Madrid’s last 13 matches in all competitions and that is also of interest at 5/4.
Bet on Ronaldo to score two or more at 5/4
Almeria have actually acquitted themselves well against Real on home turf and have drawn two and won one of the last four games; the other they only lost by a solitary goal.
On two of those occasions they have gone into the half-time break all-square and the price of 17/2 about Draw/Draw makes some appeal.
However, with Barcelona and Athletico Madrid both keeping up an unrelenting pace at the top of La Liga, there is little chance of Ronaldo and friends settling for anything other than a win in Andalucia.
They should prove too strong for their hosts in the second period and the Draw/Madrid bet is 18/5.
Bet on Draw/Madrid ht/ft result at 18/5
Looking further ahead, and now looks the time to back Real Madrid to win La Liga.
Athletico Madrid are enjoying a fantastic season but their squad doesn’t have the same depth as the big two and they must encounter a sticky patch before long.
Although Barca have plenty of superstars in reserve, there is no doubt that they will really miss the injured Lionel Messi in the coming weeks.
Throw in injuries for Victor Valdes, Gerard Pique and Jordi Alba, and the table-toppers may also find that their challenge will have to negotiate a bumpy road.
