Antonio Conte 8/13 for Chelsea exit after Barcelona defeat
Nick Murphy | 15 March 2018
Antonio Conte remains odds-on not be at Chelsea for the opening game of the 2018/19 season.
That defeat to Barcelona was Chelsea’s sixth since the turn of the year and their third in the last four games.
Speculation has surrounded Conte’s future at Stamford Bridge throughout the campaign and it now appears unlikely that the former Juventus coach will not remain in West London at the start of next season.
Luis Enrique, Guus Hiddink, Carlo Ancelotti and Diego Simeone have all been touted as possible replacements for the 48-year-old.
Meanwhile, the future for Conte could be back on the international stage. He was recently installed as a 5/1 shot to return to his post as Italy manager following the country’s disastrous World Cup qualifying campaign.
“The odds firmly suggest Antonio Conte will not be at Chelsea next season and after his side were eliminated from the Champions League last night, punters have been rushing in to back the Italian to leave before the start of the 2018/19 campaign,” said Coral’s John Hill.
