Leverkusen battle Bremen in DFB Pokal

Bayer Leverkusen enter their DFB Pokal quarter-final clash with Bundesliga rivals Werder Bremen with just a single loss in four previous fixture meetings, and will be high on confidence after a 3-0 thrashing in their last domestic dust-up.

At the Weserstadion last September, Leverkusen eased past Viktor Skripnik’s men with a comfortable 3-0 away triumph in the Bundesliga, and they hold a huge home advantage, having not been defeated by Bremen at the BayArena since May 2009.

The hosts are therefore 29/20 with Coral for another win to nil within 90 minutes, while the visitors are 6/1 to cause an upset on their travels, after losing only one of their last five away outings across all competitions.

Hitman Hernandez holds Bayer key

Former Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez has relished his starring role in Germany this season, bagging an incredible 21 goals across all fronts since arriving from Old Trafford.

The Mexican marksman is 4/1 to dispatch a double or more this time out in normal time, while fellow attacker Admir Mehmedi is 5/4 to net anytime after doing so in the previous fixture victory.

For the visitors, veteran frontman and former Bayern Munich forward Claudio Pizarro is 11/4 to get on the scoresheet, with main striker Anthony Ujah 8/1 to open proceedings for his side which is battling to avoid relegation domestically.

Having won five of the last six match-ups, the Black and Yellows will be confident of continuing their rampant run, especially after a 4-1 thumping in the most recent encounter last November, when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang starred with a brilliant brace.

The Gambia sharpshooter is 3/1 to repeat his heroics with another deadly double or more in normal time, while Germany international wideman Marco Reus is evens to add to his impressive season tally of 10 in all competitions so far.

Grosskreutz gunning for success over old club

There’s a battle within the Pokal war in this Tuesday night meeting, as Stuttgart’s Kevin Grosskreutz comes up against his former employers, and is targeting a semi-final spot with his new teammates.

“For me it is of course a special feeling to play against Dortmund. I’m fired up for the game,” stated the attacker, who won two Bundesliga titles and the Pokal during a six-year stint at Dortmund.

Grosskreutz is 13/2 to strike anytime against familiar faces, with Stuttgart’s clinical centre forward Daniel Didavi 10/3 to add to his recent goal over Eintracht Frankfurt in a 4-2 triumph.

Bochum face daunting Munich match-up

Pep Guardiola’s Bayern Munich have continued their domestic dominance this season and looked nailed on to secure the club’s fourth successive Bundesliga title, but next they face second tier side Bochum in their DFB Pokal quarter-final contest.

Hamburger SV vs Bayern Munich

The Bavarians were hit with the news that their boss Guardiola is set to depart this summer to take over at Manchester City, and the Spaniard will want to go out on an enormous high, as his superior German outfit still fight on all fronts.

Bayern have not met Bochum since the 2011/12 campaign, but have not lost in this fixture since February 2004. The dominant visitors are 7/4 to fire in four or more goals in normal time, while Bochum are huge 9/1 outsiders to shock the reigning top-flight champions.

Bayern arsenal too much for Bochum

Janik Haberer was on target for Bochum in their previous Pokal coup and is 13/2 to dispatch anytime, while leading marksman Simon Terodde is 11/2 to strike against Bayern in 90 minutes.

Although, the astute attacking ranks that Bayern possess should simply be too much for their opponents, with Polish poacher Robert Lewandowski 8/1 to hit a hat-trick and German marksman Thomas Muller is 3/1 for two or more goals.

Guardiola will take this competition seriously as another chance for silverware in his final term in Germany, but he may field some young starlets against the Bundesliga 2 outfit, with Milos Pantovic 5/4 to net in 90 minutes and Sebastian Rode 7/2 for a goal of his own.
