Coral’s bet of the day

- Roma have grabbed the most goals in Serie A, with 25 so far
- Bayer Leverkusen bagged 11 in their last three games
- Rudi Garcia’s guys have been clinical at the Stadio Olimpico
Back over 4.5 goals to be grabbed at 17/5 in Roma v Bayer Leverkusen battle
Italian giants Roma host Bundesliga boys Bayer at the Stadio Olimpico, after eight goals occurred in their last encounter, which ended with each side scoring four apiece. So, much is at stake in this crunch Champions League clash, and Coral’s cracking bet of the day is to back over 4.5 goals to be clocked-up again at a superb price of 17/5.
Considering almost double the amount of goals were dispatched when these two teams last met, expect this to be another deadly duel, with second spot behind Barcelona in Group E hanging in the balance.
Hosts the Giallorossi are currently the highest scoring side in Serie A, having hit 25. Yet, in contrast to their poaching prowess, the Eternal City outfit have also conceded more than any of their other top five rivals, leaking 13 in 11 league outings.
As for Europe, the Romans have been on target in all of their Champions League games so far, but have also crucially failed to keep a clean sheet.
It will not be all one-way traffic though, as Leverkusen have been similarly lethal in front of net, scoring 11 in their past three frays, and over 3 goals on seven occasions across all competitions.
“There’s no choice”
All-guns were blazing at the BayArena last time out, as Roma initially came back from 2-0 down, before losing a 4-2 lead in the space of just two minutes, so this repeat match-up certainly has strikes in.
Two points behind their pool rivals, the Giallorossi will need to go for the jugular. Speaking ahead of the dust-up, Roma boss Rudi Garcia told press: “We know tomorrow there’s no choice: we play to win because we’ve got to win.”
On the previous scuffle’s scoreline, the Giallorossi gaffer added: “That confirmed to us what we’d already studied about this team – that they have strengths in attack and weaknesses in defence.
“The final result was one which we could even have expected, given the form the two teams were in because even we were scoring a lot, and could have done better in defence.”
Net threats galore
This tussle should certainly suit Roma, as the Italian capital club have so far saved their most potent form for home fans, striking three or more in as many of their last matches at the Stadio Olimpico, where they are also undefeated.
Players such as Miralem Pjanic, plus Premier League loanees Edin Dzeko and Mohamed Salah alongside evergreen attacker Francesco Totti mean there are plenty of goals in Garcia’s guys.
Leverkusen are also capable of causing havoc, with the likes of German goal threats Stefan Kiessling and Karim Bellarabi in the ranks, while former Manchester United marksman Javier Hernandez is in formidable form, with six strikes in his last four appearances.
