Bet of the day: Suarez to score two or more for Barca

Matt Haynes | December 9, 2015

  • Suarez struck twice last time out in the Champions League
  • The Uruguayan is in superb scoring form for Barcelona this season
  • Five goals in five Champions League matches

Coral’s bet of the day zeros in on the Champions League as we recommend Luis Suarez to score two or more when Barcelona play Bayer Leverkusen in the last round of group fixtures.

Super Suarez

Uruguayan star Suarez is in his best form since joining Barcelona and will go into this clash against Bayer Leverkusen looking to be on the scoresheet once more like he was in the reverse fixture. Having dispatched 12 goals in his last eight matches (scoring in each), Suarez has outstanding odds of 5/1 to net two or more against the German outfit, to repeat his feat in the club’s last Champions League clash against Roma.

Spain Soccer La Liga

With 19 goals in 21 matches across all competitions this term, which includes five in as many Champions League games, Suarez is one of the most prolific strikers in Europe right now and more than shouldered scoring responsibility when teammate Lionel Messi was out injured.

Sublime on-field relationships ensures chances galore

In the time that Messi was sidelined, he built up a remarkable rapport with fellow attacker Neymar, with the duo being fantastic foils for each other. They seem to telepathically know where the other one is at any given time and it is this which creates numerous chances and leaves defenders dazed.

Throw Messi into the mix, now he is fit, and it gets even more complicated. His mercurial presence now created even more space for Suarez who has demonstrated a number of different goals this term, using both feet inside and outside of the area.

Suarez “privileged”

The striker has even commented on his symbiosis with his two attacking teammates, saying: “The relationship is exemplary.

“Let’s assume Messi is the best and Neymar is Number Two,” Suarez explained. “We know Leo is above everyone. I enjoy playing with them, the form of the team, it’s a privilege. The good relationship means a lot because no one believes they are superior to anyone.”
