Back Lionel Messi and Arjen Robben at the Champions League double

We’re down to the last eight in Europe’s elite club competition, the Champions League. Up first are Barcelona against Atletico Madrid and the holders Bayern Munich at Manchester United.

If you back Barca icon Lionel Messi and Bayern winger Arjen Robben to score anytime, against their respective opponents in the first legs with Coral, you will receive enhanced odds of 10/3.

Argentine master Messi has found the net at least once (and eight times in total) from five Champions League appearances this term. He is 7/1 to win the competition’s Golden Boot.

Coming into Barcelona’s encounter with fellow La Liga title rivals Atletico, Messi has eight in his last four appearances. Hosts Barca are odds-on 1/2 favourites to win this first leg, and he is the same price to score anytime. A better bet is for Messi to net the opener at 9/4.

He also boasts a phenomenal scoring rate of 20 in 19 career appearances against Atletico. That total includes three hat-tricks, so back Messi to take the match ball home at 7/1.

Dutch forward Robben, meanwhile, netted on Munich’s last visit to Old Trafford. That was back in 2010 at the same stage of this competition. Bayern went on to reach the final.

Former Chelsea and Real Madrid wide man Robben has averaged a goal ever other game (three in six) in the Champions League this season. Pep Guardiola’s Bayern come into this trip to United off the back of 19 Bundesliga wins and a draw.

That ominous form contrasts sharply with David Moyes’ Red Devils. The hosts have beaten lesser opposition in the form of claret and blue colours couple West Ham and Aston Villa but, between those results, lost 3-0 on their own turf to Liverpool and Manchester City.

Munich are thus odds-on 4/9 favourites to win the first leg, and another 3-0 scoreline is a 10/1 chance. Robben is 7/4 to net anytime for the visitors, and a 6/1 shot to score first.
