Championship: Leeds visit Middlesbrough with good head-to-head record

Leeds United have had a good run against Middlesbrough in recent years and, perhaps surprisingly, did the double over the Teesside outfit last season with two 1-0 wins.

Indeed, the last four results have worked favourably for the West Yorkshire side who have taken 10 points from a possible 12 or 13 from a possible 15 depending how far you go back. In fact, the Whites have lost just once at the Riverside in 12 meetings, in a record that stretches as far back as the 1996/97 season – five of those being wins, three of which have come in the last five seasons.

Therefore 11/2 odds with Coral, of a victory for Uwe Rosler’s side make very good value, while even the draw at 10/3 makes good reading.

Boro, though, have had an excellent start to the campaign and are in the top three of the Championship, having won their last four league matches. New signing Christian Stuani has impressed for Aitor Karanka’s side so far, with seven goals in all competition and is well-priced at 6/4 in the anytime market.

Last time out, Karanka’s side did well to come away from Nottingham Forest with 2-1 win as David Nugent opened the scoring and the experienced forward is 9/2 to repeat that against the Whites.

Leeds themselves haven’t had too bad a start to the new season, having only lost once and won on the road last time out, beating MK Dons 2-1 with Chris Wood scoring his fourth of the season and youngster Charlie Taylor chipping in with a super strike. The former is 17/2 to break the deadlock, with the latter 9/2 anytime.

Watch out for highly-rated youngster Jordan Botaka, who has impressed for the club’s youth team recently and has odds of 7/2 to strike anytime. Mirko Antenucci, meanwhile has also been in good form this term, scoring three goals and he has odds of 16/5 to score in the same market.

Coral’s top tip: Wood first-scorer @ 17/2 with Coral
