Back Derby, QPR, Forest in sensational Championship treble
Coral offer their best treble yet if you back Derby County, QPR and Nottingham Forest to beat Millwall, Birmingham City and Barnsley respectively. This enhanced Championship multiple has a mega price of 17/2 and punters can make a pretty penny if they bet now.
Derby County v Millwall
Steve McClaren’s Rams have lost just one of their last six battles with Millwall.
You have to go back to 2004 for a Lions victory at Pride Park and, with Ian Holloway battling relegation, expect the promotion hopefuls to show no mercy here.
Derby County are thus odds-on at 8/15 for a fifth consecutive Championship home win since New Year’s Day.
Even though top-scorer Chris Martin is suspended, goalscoring midfielder Craig Bryson should return. He hit a hat-trick in the reverse fixture and a repeat of that feat is 40/1. Bryson is 2/1 for a goal anytime.
Millwall have won just once since December 7th. Their last and only win on the road this season came way back in September at South London rivals Charlton. This is definitely a home banker for McClaren’s men.
Birmingham City v QPR
They may not have won at St Andrew’s since 1984, but there are several compelling reasons why punters should back Harry Redknapp’s Hoops to end their recent slump with victory against Birmingham City at 7/5.
Firstly, the Blues last took three Championship points on their own turf way back on October 1st when they hammered struggling Millwall 4-0. The St Andrew’s faithful have seen their side fail to win 11 attempts since.
Birmingham also continue to endure chaos off the field, with Lee Clark losing members of his backroom staff and the recent jailing of club owner Carson Yeung. He was found guilty of money laundering in his native Hong Kong.
Persistent knee problems have forced Blues left back David Murphy to retire at the age of 30 after six years’ service to the West Midlands outfit. He helped Birmingham keep a clean sheet and win the last meeting of the two sides at St Andrew’s.
Diminutive striker Andy Johnson will hold the key to this clash for QPR. He has three goals in four appearances against his former club, so back the ex-England man for a goal anytime at 7/4 and to score first at 6/1.
Barnsley v Nottingham Forest
Billy Davies’ Forest have lost just one of their last seven encounters with basement club Barnsley. On their last visit to Oakwell, the East Midlands outfit won handsomely and all signs point to that happening again here.
Any confidence Danny Wilson’s Tykes took from ending a five-match winless streak by beating fellow strugglers Millwall was lost last time out, as Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield put five past them.
Forest are 5/4 for victory and two of the last three meetings have seen the net bulge five times.
If you fancy the Tricky Trees to fill their boots here, then take odds of 6/1 on the total goals being over 4.5.
Likely scorers for Forest are Darius Henderson and Jamie Mackie. Target man Henderson has 6 in 11 appearances against Barnsley.
He scored in the reverse fixture this term and has an Oakwell hat-trick on his CV from his Millwall days. Back Henderson at 7/4 for a goal anytime or 9/1 to score two or more.
Scotland international Mackie, meanwhile, has even more impressive stats. He has four in seven against the Tykes, and every time he has scored his teams have won. Odds of 11/4 for Mackie to net here look a great way to make easy money.
