Back Derby, Rotherham and Fleetwood in 9/2 play-off treble

Judgement day is approaching for six teams across three divisions all bidding to win in their league’s respective play-off final. Perhaps the cruelest way to be defied promotion, only three teams can succeed. Coral bring you the lowdown on the three teams tantamount to their terrific treble at 9/2.

Derby

The Rams have played fantastic football this season under Steve McClaren, scoring 84 goals which is the highest total in the Championship. Striker Chris Martin has netted around a quarter of their tally, and leads his club’s charts with 25 goals in all competitions. Derby are boosted by the news that midfielder, and crucially their second highest hit man Craig Bryson returns from injury to face QPR. The speed of their attacking play is frightening, and could well drag Harry Redknapp’s rear guard out of position.

Rotherham

Steve Evans’ side have scored the highest amount of goals of the four teams in the third-tier playoffs. Top marksman Keiran Agard who notched in the semi final second leg against Preston is on 24 strikes, while Lee Frecklington – another scorer of one of the Millers’ decisive goals is just behind on 13. Rotherham are in the hunt for back-to-back promotions, after Evans guided the south Yorkshire club into League One last season.

Fleetwood

Another club that have notched the highest amount of goals of all of their play-off competitors, Fleetwood went into the semi final fixture against York City having won just two out of their remaining five league matches, though took the opportunity to rest their key players. Midfielder Matty Blair was the hero last time out, netting against his former club at Bootham Crescent, notching what was only his fourth goal of the season. The Cod Army showed over two legs, that as well as having a potent strike force, they can also defend a lead and are well marshalled at the back.
