Five fab European tips featuring dabbles for Serie A and La Liga last days
Holly Thackeray | May 13, 2016
It’s not just the last day of the Premier League this weekend, as domestic league duties around the continent come to a close, with final fascinating rounds across Europe including Serie A and La Liga.
So, Coral celebrate the end of this enthralling football season by selecting some of the best last matchweek bets for punters away from English action…
Juventus v Sampdoria – Juve to win and both teams score
Juve are of course already crowned champions of Serie A again for a fifth successive season, and while the Old Lady may rest a few ahead of their Coppa Italia clash with AC Milan, they will want to see out the Serie A season strongly infront of home support in Turin.
As Juventus are unbeaten in their last five league frays with fellow northern Italian team Samp, and have emerged victorious from their last 10 tussles in Turin, with Samp recording one away win in 10 in Piedmonte they look good value at 7/4 to take all three points and both teams to score.
In favour of the Blucerchiati also finding the net, is the fact that they have on their last six trips to Juventus’ patch and also managed to breach the Old Lady’s backline in the reverse, despite still losing.
Deportivo de La Coruna v Real Madrid – Ronaldo for a brace or better
And then there were two. La Liga goes into the last matchweek awaiting a riveting conclusion to the title race between Barcelona and a resurgent Real Madrid, with both playing at the same time on Saturday.
Los Blancos will be relying on a Barca blip, but also need to beat cult club Deportivo away from the Bernabeu. So, who better to step up than Cristiano Ronaldo, who helped fire Zinedine Zidane’s Spanish giants to glory in their last game with a deadly double.
Ronaldo will need to be rampant again when it counts, and is a sublime 7/4 to strike a brace or better for the 14th time this campaign in all competitions, having also hit nine in eight career appearances against Deportivo, including a hat-trick in this very fixture last term.
Granada v Barcelona – Over 5.5 goals in game
The Catalan kings’ destiny is firmly in their own hands so we expect their game against Granada, in which they can turn around a disappointing campaign by defending their Spanish championship title, to finish with a thumping.
Punters can grab a 13/5 price for over 5.5 goals to occur in the game, after Barca bagged 13 in their past three match-ups with these opponents. In 11 of their outings in all competitions, the Catalan club have featured in 11 games with over that amount of goals, and with top trio Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez firing on all cylinders it is a tasty tip to take.
Athletic Bilbao v Sevilla – Bilbao to win both halves
Everyone knows it can be a tough task indeed to come away with three points from the Estadio San Mames, home of Basque boys Athletic Bilbao.
Continental cup specialists Sevilla will have one eye on their midweek Europa League final and have only managed to win one of their past eight in La Liga, making their hosts best value at 2/1 to win both halves of this wrangle, as opposed to odds-on at 1/3 for an outright victory.
Aside from in Europe, where these two Spanish sides squared-up earlier in the season, Bilbao have been dominant against the Bathtubs on their own turf, with five Liga wins in a row against them in the Basque Country.
AC Milan v Roma – Totti to strike the final blow
Will he or won’t he? Francesco Totti’s Eternal City future is still uncertain, with rumours that Roma could now offer their iconic attacker a one-year contract extension.
Though, the evergreen Italian may still wave goodbye to the Giallorossi as Luciano Spalletti’s side give one final attempt to topple second spot Napoli for the automatic Champions League place. AC Milan, and the Little Donkeys’ own result stands in their way, which seems the perfect script for Totti to crown this tumultuous term with.
Roma’s long-serving stalwart is a tempting 11/2 to strike last at the San Siro, having been used a super sub of late, scoring four in his last five appearances, with two of those the final goals in those games.
