Ibrahimovic – Man Utd best bits

Frank Monkhouse | 15 June 2017

Red Devils call time on Zlatan’s stay

Manchester United shocked fans when announcing the club would be releasing star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The 35-year-old favourite had originally signed a one year deal to work under Jose Mourinho, with an option of a second year, but injury meant that extension wasn’t offered.

The veteran striker was one of few positives in the United attack last season, but it seems the club are taking on a new direction, concentrating on youth, searching Europe for a hitman good enough to take the place of Wayne Rooney and lead the line for years to come.

Zlatan finished the season as their leading scorer, rattling in 17 Premier League goals, seeing him finish ahead of the likes of Eden Hazard, Jermain Defoe and Fernando Llorente, to name a few. As neutrals, the football guys at Coral would like to thank the Swede for his contribution to English football. Here’s our five favourite Ibrahimovic goals in red…..
