England, Germany, Spain, Portugal in awesome international acca
There’s money to be made for punters during the international break because Coral are offering mega odds of 9/2 on accumulator wins for England, Germany, Spain and Portugal as they warm-up for the World Cup.
Denmark visit Wembley, the Germans host Chile in Stuttgart, Spain welcome fellow giants Italy to Madrid and Portugal clash with Cameroon.
England v Denmark
The Three Lions have won their last three Wembley meetings with Denmark. Be patriotic and back England to make that four out of four at 4/6.
Talisman Wayne Rooney has two from three caps against this opposition and punters can get 4/1 on the Manchester United man scoring first. Doubts hang over Danish playmaker Christian Eriksen (of Tottenham), so supply to Arsenal misfit Nicklas Bendtner may be short for the visitors.
Roy Hodgson’s side have kept four clean sheets in their last six – three of those have come at home. Back the Three Lions to shut Denmark out at 19/20 and win to nil at 29/20.
Germany v Chile
German national teams (East and West as was) have won 60 per cent of their 10 meetings with Chile. The South Americans last came up against opposition from this country in 1982, so this is their first encounter since reunification.
Chile have won once on German soil, way back in 1969 in Magdeburg. After beating England in November, Joachim Low is using this friendly to give youngsters a chance.
Despite including uncapped defenders Matthias Ginter and Shkodran Mustafi instead of established names Benedikt Howedes and Mats Hummels in their squad, Germany are still odds-on favourites at 4/9 to win.
Pierre-Michel Lasogga was in line for a senior debut as a reward for his fine form up front for surprise Bundesliga strugglers Hamburg, but a thigh problem has ruled him out.
Veteran stager Miroslav Klose should now lead the German line and needs one more goal to break Gerd Muller’s international record. Back him at evens to net anytime.
Spain v Italy
La Roja have lost to the Azzurri just once since they were knocked out of the 1994 World Cup in the USA. Vicente del Bosque’s side are 8/15 favourites to win in Madrid at Atletico’s Vicente Calderon.
Although four of the last seven meetings have been draws, two of those were penalty shoot-out wins for Spain. La Roja also put four past Italy in the Euro 2012 final.
Punters looking for Spanish scoring specialists will be disappointed however, as the last seven goals from the hosts have come from different players.
Diego Costa will make his second international debut after switching allegiances from Brazil – the country of his birth. Back him to cap his La Roja bow by scoring first at 4/1.
Portugal v Cameroon
Chelsea striker Samuel Eto’o was sent off in the only previous meeting of Portugal and his Cameroon.
That was four years ago, and former Blues and Liverpool midfielder Raul Meireles bagged a brace in a 3-1 victory. Back him at 20/1 to score two or more here.
Paulo Bento’s Portugal are odds-on at 4/11 to win this friendly in France. Prolific Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, like Klose above, will get the chance to break an international scoring record here.
You can get 7/4 on him scoring first against Cameroon.
