French to flex muscles

Soccer - International Friendly - France v Brazil - Stade de France
Euro 2016 hosts France have had to make do with competitive friendlies to warm-up for the upcoming summer tournament on home soil and, after four wins in a row, might just fancy their chances against old foes Germany, who present arguably Les Bleus’ biggest test yet.

Didier Deschamps has an excellent chance to test his best against the World Cup holders, and is 27/20 with Coral to take the spoils in front of home fans, with the Germans oddly off pace of late and having struggled through qualifying.

Les Bleus will want to banish memories of their drab 1-0 quarter-final exit to Die Mannschaft (21/10) in Brazil, and there is certainly plenty of flair in the squad for France to serve up to their guests.

Young-guns in Manchester United marksman Anthony Martial and Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman are both 7/4 shouts in the anytime market, should they get the chance to stake a squad claim. While, with Karim Benzema and Mathieu Valbuena likely absent due to off-field issues, dangermen Olivier Giroud (6/1 to strike the opener) and Antoine Griezmann should also have ample chance to grab goals.

Surprise re-call dominates Die Mannschaft news

There have been plenty of selection surprises from Joachim Low too as, with Mario Gotze and Marco Reus both missing out through injury, the coach has turned to both old and new recruits.

Schalke starlet Leroy Sane (11/4 to notch anytime) is causing all kinds of kerfuffle with his promising performances and the Liverpool-linked attacker could be in line for a debut with Die Mannschaft.

While, at the other end of the spectrum, veteran goal machine Mario Gomez returns to the fold for the first time in over a year, and is 6/1 to have the final say should he feature. Fine form for Besiktas has seen the hitman recognised by Low again, who could use some tactical versatility due his an abundance of attacking midfielders and few natural centre forwards.

Red Devils to disrupt Italy

Soccer - UEFA Euro 2016 - Qualifying - Group B - Belgium v Israel - King Baudouin Stadium
Belgium are understandably 21/10 favourites to beat visitors Italy in Brussels, and it should be a close contest, with both teams having finishes first in their respective Euro 2016 qualifying groups.

Where Marc Wilmots men have the advantage, however, is midfield dynamism and lethal forwards up top able to snatch a hatful of goals at home. After four successive victories, in which the Red Devils racked-up 11 strikes, the hosts are superb at 17/4 to score three or more.

The Belgians boast several in-form Premier League stars, including high-flying Manchester City playmaker Kevin De Bruyne (9/1 to net first), Tottenham’s revived midfielder Moussa Dembele and bullish Everton attacker Romelu Lukaku. Though Chelsea star Eden Hazard has looked faded of late for his club, he has four from the last four with Belgium, so looks tasty at 7/4 to hit home anytime.

Azzurri lack attacking bite

Italy Norway Euro Soccer
Meanwhile, travellers Italy have drawn their last two away days, so look best value at 23/10 to end evenly on the road again. There has been much criticism for a lack of goals though, in characteristic style, the Azzurri have been sturdy, grinding out results.

Having lost just one of eight previous encounters against Belgium, there should be confidence in the camp, with Southampton sharpshooter Graziano Pelle (7/4 in the anytime market) and Fiorentina forward Eder Citadin Martins the best tips to add goals to Italy’s attack.
