Bristol City, MK Dons and Preston in novel 9/2 Boxing Day treble
There’s a full Football League fixture programme, as ever, on Boxing Day, and to celebrate Coral are offering enhanced odds of 9/2 to third-tier top four trio Bristol City, MK Dons and Preston North End all to win.
Steve Cotterill’s Robins host Yeovil Town, the Dons are at Notts County and Simon Grayson’s side welcome Barnsley to Deepdale. Each of the three featured sides in this tasty treble are odds-on favourites for individual victories, so your best bet is to combine them and take his boosted price.
Here are some other reasons why this trio of League One promotion hopefuls will win their respective matches.
Bristol City v Yeovil
The Robins have always beaten the Glovers at home. As Cotterill’s club sit top of the table and former Bristol City gaffer Gary Johnson brings his Somerset side to Ashton Gate in the relegation zone, the hosts are odds-on 4/6 favourites for victory.
Up front, City boast 17-goal strike partnership Kieran Agard (5/4 to score anytime) and Aaron Wilbraham (6/5 in the same market). Town have a poor defensive record (31 conceded), so this potent attack should run riot.
Notts County v MK Dons
Karl Robinson can be confident of a win here, because his Dons did the double over Notts last term, winning 3-1 home and away. The Milton Keynes club are odds-on 4/5 to beat County again, and 14/1 shots to record a repeat scoreline.
At Meadow Lane back in March, highly-rated Dons midfielder Dele Alli hit a hat-trick. Another of those is a 25/1 chance here, but the teenage sensation is a safer bet in the anytime market at 9/5, after netting 10 in the league already.
Robinson’s top scorer Benik Afobe is one away from breaking the 20-goal barrier across all competitions. This is a hugely impressive haul from the Arsenal-owned youngster, and he is a 7/5 chance to net again anytime.
Preston v Barnsley
Only three teams in League One have let in more goals than the Tykes and, as Grayson’s North End have won three of their last four in the division to nil, Preston are odds-on 4/6 favourites to beat Barnsley.
Jermaine Beckford broke his duck for the Deepdale outfit in an important away victory at promotion rivals Peterborough United last time out. He is 6/4 to score again anytime here, and the home team are 15/8 to win to nil once more.
