Sheffield United, Rotherham, Crawley come in as easy money 8/1 treble
We may now be on the international break, but there’s still action aplenty in League One and punters should cash in on Coral’s crazy odds of 8/1 on wins for Sheffield United, Rotherham and Crawley.
The Blades host Peterborough, while Rotherham travel to struggling Colchester and Crawley entertain relegation-threatened Stevenage.
Sheffield United v Peterborough
Steel city side United have lost to Posh just once in eight meetings and are 13/10 to add to their five wins in this fixture. Nigel Clough has turned things around at Bramall Lane and given Blades fans an FA Cup run to enjoy too. Before the quarter-final against Championship club Charlton, however, they have this test.
Darren Ferguson’s Peterborough are somewhat unpredictable on the road. They recently beat joint division leaders Leyton Orient, but also lost on other away days at Crawley and Oldham.
If United, who are on a run of five straight league wins and seven in all competitions, can keep Posh top-scorer Britt Assombalonga out, then they have a great chance of winning. Goals have dried up for the DR Congo frontman with one in his last three, while the Blades’ last six scorers have all been different.
Clough’s defence have kept four clean sheets, and six in the last seven in all competitions. That strong record should continue as Harry Maguire and John Brayford are both passed fit. You can back them to shut Peterborough out at 2/1 and to win to nil at 29/10.
Colchester v Rotherham
Essex outfit Colchester have not won a match since January and picked up a single point from the last 15 on offer. Rotherham last lost on New Year’s Day and are sitting pretty in a playoff place. They currently have a cushion of a whopping 14 points as a top-six team.
Steve Evans’ loan signings starred as the Millers hit lowly Notts County for six last time out. James Tavernier and Haris Vuckic, both on Newcastle’s books, joined QPR youngster Tom Hitchcock in scoring.
Kari Arnason will be on international duty with Iceland, so another Rotherham loan player in former Derby County defender Miles Addison, will deputise. Back the free-scoring Millers (15 in their last five) at 10/11 for victory here.
Crawley v Stevenage
This was a non-league fixture as recently as 2010, and mid-table Crawley come into this match having last lost in the third-tier on Boxing Day. Stevenage beat Bradford in their previous outings to end a run of five straight league defeats.
John Gregory has seen goals shared around Sussex side Crawley, with Billy Clarke, Matt Tubbs and Joe Welsh all netting five apiece. They are odds-on at 19/20 to leave Stevenage deep in the relegation mire.
