5 Sunday live European football tips

As the Premier League and Championship etc continues in England this weekend, so does European football.

A number of crunch clashes across the continent are on our TV screens this Sunday, with the likes of PSV Eindhoven, Juventus, Lyon, Roma and Ajax all in action.

So, read on to check out Coral’s five top live European football tips on Sunday, September 18th…

The first of our five live fixtures to kick-off is between the current top two in the Eredivisie, as Feyenoord look to extended their lead over current champions PSV.

Visitors Feyenoord come into this clash on the back of beating Manchester United in the Europa League, and also with a 100 per cent record in the Dutch top flight this term from their five matches.

Captain and former Liverpool cult hero Dirk Kuyt has played a big part in their success so far, netting three times and getting an assist in the league.

The 36-year-old attacker is still going strong, and has five career goals against PSV, so is a brilliant 21/10 shout to score again anytime.

Inter Milan v Juventus: Juve to win 2-1

Kick-off: 17:00 BST, live on BT Sport 2

Juventus can claim yet another 2-1 away victory over Inter Milan.

Juventus can claim yet another 2-1 away victory over Inter Milan.

Perhaps the match of the day in terms of the quality and finance of the teams, Inter Milan will be hoping to belie their poor start in Serie A this season against unstoppable force Juventus.

However, history also suggests that the San Siro side tend not to do too well against the Turin team, who are top after winning all three of their matches.

Juve defeated Inter twice last term, while they have also beaten them away 2-1 in three of the last five campaigns. So, back them to win by that scoreline once more at an enticing 8/1 price.

Marseille v Lyon: Draw

Kick-off: 19:00 BST, live on BT Sport 1

Marseille and Lyon have been as bad each other this season in Ligue 1.

Marseille and Lyon have been as bad each other this season in Ligue 1.

Neither Marseille nor fellow sleeping French giants Lyon, who are connected 200 miles apart by the river Rhone, have started the season in Ligue 1 well, losing two of their four matches apiece.

They now go head-to-head at the famous Stade Velodrome on Sunday evening both looking to kick-start their campaigns.

A draw at 9/4 looks to be the best bet to take, though, as the duo have shared the spoils in each of the last three meetings – two of those being in Marseille.

Fiorentina v Roma: Salah to score first

Kick-off: 19:45 BST, live on BT Sport 2

Roma's Mohamed Salah will be looking to score at least four in three against his former club Fiorentina.

Roma’s Mohamed Salah will be looking to score at least four in three against his former club Fiorentina.

Elsewhere in Serie A, Fiorentina and Roma, from two of the most stunning cities in the world, meet in Florence for a Tuscan tussle.

The Rome outfit got the better of Viola last season both home and away, largely thanks to the efforts of Mohamed Salah, who got three goals across the two fixtures.

Former Chelsea forward and Fiorentina loanee Salah, who has scored twice in three games this Serie A term already, broke the deadlock last time out at the Artemio Franchi stadium, and so is 11/2 to net first again.

Heracles v Ajax: Visitors to win to nil

Kick-off: 15:45 BST, live on Sky Sports Red Button

Being named after two of the most famous mythological Greek heroes, you’d expect a titanic (or Herculean) battle when Heracles and Ajax lock horns – even though as people they would’ve been on the same side fighting the Trojans.

Although that may not always be the case, it is certainly an intriguing match-up when these two teams collide.

Ajax, who undoubtedly have the better team on paper, have kept clean sheets in each of their last three meetings, with two of those being victories. They are 19/10 to win to nil once more, and thus make Heracles fall on their sword (which ironically actually happened to Ajax in Greek mythology).
