Mick McCarthy evens favourite for West Brom job

Plenty of support for ex-Wolves manager

Coral has seen a huge gamble this afternoon on Mick McCarthy becoming the next permanent West Brom manager.

The former Ipswich and Sunderland boss is now Evens following a surge of bets.

Michael Appleton and Craig Shakespeare are second best in the betting at 13/2 apiece, while Derek McInnes is 7/1 to be handed the job.

Coral’s John Hill said: “If this latest gamble is to be believed, it does not look like Mick McCarthy is going to be out of work very long as punters believe he will become the next permanent West Brom boss where he is the red hot favourite to get the job with the Baggies.”

Alan Pardew left the Baggies last month. West Brom are bottom of the Premier League and are 10 points from safety with only 15 still available.
