Napoli to do the half-time/full-time double over Lazio

Consecutive defeats to Juventus and Parma without troubling the scorers have caused Napoli to lose ground at the head of Serie A, but they should be backed to get back on the winning bandwagon in front of the BT Sport cameras at Lazio.

Napoli are marginal favourites in the Serie A odds at 6/4 to triumph, with Lazio available at 9/5 and the draw priced at 9/4.

This price does look a little short on the visitors, given their three-game losing run in all competitions, the continued absence of leading playmaker Marek Hamsik through injury and their disappointing record of late at the Stadio Olimpico against Lazio.

Since returning to Serie A in the 2007/08 campaign, Napoli have only won once in seven away games with Lazio.

However, on a more positive note, Lazio are 10th in the Serie A standings at present and are yet to beat a team positioned above them in the league table.

Meanwhile, Napoli have won four of their six road trips, with their two away defeats coming against the pair currently above them in the standings – Juventus and Roma.

Furthermore, the 6/4 on a Napoli victory may not look the most enticing, but given their 100-per-cent record in the league this season under Rafa Benitez when leading at the interval, a far more inviting price is on offer in the half-time/full-time market.

Napoli have led at the break in seven Serie A fixtures this season and have gone on to take maximum points on every occasion. In perfect contrast, the two games that Napoli have been behind at the interval, they have lost.

Therefore, Napoli’s odds of 18/5 to be leading at both half time and full time is a price that can’t be refused. This is especially the case as Lazio haven’t scored a first-half goal in their last eight Serie A outings.
