Five potential destinations for Belgian bruiser Radja Nainggolan

Belgium international midfielder Radja Nainggolan has alerted many top clubs around Europe after declaring that he is unsure whether he will be remaining at Serie A side Roma next season.

The 26-year-old midfield enforcer is still part-owned by his former employers Cagliari and the club are reportedly yet to agree a permanent fee to release him to Roma, leaving the Italian top-flight star unaware of where his future lies.

“Will I stay at Roma? At the moment there’s a 50 per cent chance,” he said.

“However, I’m not worried as there’s still time. Roma and Cagliari have to find an agreement. I’m 100 per cent focused on Roma, it’s a great club, a great team and a beautiful city to live in.”

Following Nainggolan’s comments, Coral have outlined five potential destinations for the Belgian bruiser next season.

Arsenal
With Nainggolan’s astute abilities in central midfield, he could provide Arsene Wenger’s Gunners with that determination and drive which has possibly been lacking for many seasons.

The Belgium international will never shy away from a tackle and would be a dominant figure in any Premier League outfit with his impressive attributes. Arsenal are odds-on 4/5 favourites to secure an FA Cup triumph this year at Wembley.

Manchester United
Louis van Gaal already has one strong Belgium international in his ranks, with Marouane Fellaini having impressed so far this current campaign.

Although, with the Red Devils reportedly set to splash over £100m on new signings this summer, Nainggolan’s defensive and attacking talents could be a mouth-watering prospect at Old Trafford. The Roma star boasts the ability to play as a pivotal midfield anchor as well as a box-to-box engine, something United are currently lacking.

Manchester City
Whether it’s Manuel Pellegrini or a new managerial arrival in charge at the Etihad next term, City are sure to be interested in Nainggolan’s services, as they hold the resources to attract him.

With the reigning top-flight champions hoping to make more of an impact in Europe in the immediate future, a move for the Belgian hard man could be on the cards, as he boasts plenty of Champions League experience, having also featured against City in this season’s group stages.

PSG
The Parisians, 16/1 to claim a Champions League victory, already have a wealth of midfield talent including the likes of Marco Verratti and Blaise Matuidi.

Although, with Thiago Motta nearing the later stages of his career, and former Newcastle United playmaker Yohan Cabaye stuttering in the French capital, Nainggolan could provide that aggression and force in Laurent Blanc’s midfield.

AC Milan
Despite being Serie A rivals, a close working transfer relationship has recently become apparent, with Mattia Destro being loaned to the San Siro from Roma.

Whether Milan would have the financial structure necessary to secure his signature, Nainggolan is a potential straight replacement for Dutchman and similar holding midfielder Nigel De Jong.

Watch Nainggolan strike a well-taken opener against Fiorentina last year.
