Chelsea & Mourinho secure signing of “Swedish Pogba” Joseph Colley

Premier League champions Chelsea, who are 6/4 with Coral to retain their crown seem to have secured the services of Swedish starlet Joseph Colley according to reports.

The 16-year-old, who moves from club Brommapojkarna counts versatility as one of his attributes, able to play at right back, in the heart of defence, or further up in midfield.

Having coached him for a number of years, Dali Savic, the man in charge of the Brommapojkarna U19 team has said that Colley is similar to Juventus star Paul Pogba in his technique.

“Joseph is in my opinion best best player in Sweden born since 1999. He is a leader on the pitch and in the locker room and has good technical and tactical skills already despite his young age,” Savic said.

“He is strong and has excellent timing with his headers. Chelsea are signing a top young player.

“I think JC is special and has a unique style of playing but if I have to pick one player [to compare him with] I would say [Paul] Pogba.

“His athleticism and quick technique with ball is similar to Pogba. JC can play as midfielder but probably is he going to be excellent as a full-back at senior level.”

Chelsea, under Jose Mourinho, look to have beaten Manchester United to the signing of a young prospect, and not for the first time, though Savic has said it is easy to see why Mourinho was convinced.

“I saw his quality from the first training session we had and I knew that he was going to Chelsea. My mission was to keep him on his toes and make him work hard,” said Savic.

“I don’t know what plan Chelsea has for him, but I hope and think he is good enough for Chelsea from day one.

“We have a good relation with Chelsea and the communication between the clubs has been excellent. JC was going over to London on a regular basis to train with them.”
