Coral Rumour Reel: About Clyne with Nathaniel expected at Liverpool

Liverpool, 5/2 with Coral for a top four Premier League finish, are expected to complete the signing of Southampton right back Nathaniel Clyne for a fee believed to be £12.5m, after all parties agreed terms.

The Reds have been busy this summer, bringing in five players so far, and show no signs of stopping just yet. They are also believed to have tabled an improved offer for Real Madrid midfielder Asier Illarramendi. Having already had an initial £10.6m offer turned down, it is thought that they could return with a fee closer to £15m for the Spaniard.

Finally leaving Liverpool is likely to be striker Fabio Borini with the Italian attracting interest from West Ham who are reportedly set to launch an £8m bid. Departing the Hammers, could be Stewart Downing, though competition for his signature is high, with Newcastle United, Leicester City and Sunderland all said to be keen.

However, other reports suggest that the 24-year-old could be used as a makeweight to bring Christian Benteke to Anfield from Aston Villa, with the West Midlands outfit recently pricing the Reds out of a deal, valuing the Belgian centre forward at over £30m.

Meanwhile, Chile midfielder Arturo Vidal could be set to seal a sensational move to Arsenal, with the Gunners reportedly having agreed a deal with Juventus in the region of £20m. Currently at the Copa America, Vidal would link up with compatriot Alexis Sanchez at the Emirates.

Should Vidal leave, it would raise funds for the Italian outfit, who are said to be tracking Bayern Munich defender Mehdi Benatia while also expressing an interest in Chelsea attacking midfielder Oscar.

Elsewhere, Manchester United could make an improved offer for Los Blancos centre back Sergio Ramos, after having a first bid of £28.3m rejected. By contrast, Louis van Gaal’s side appear to have a better chance of landing German midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger, after being able to guarantee him first team football.
