Coral rumour reel: Man Utd in panic spending spree?

Barcelona star Lionel Messi has put Manchester United, 4/1 with Coral to win a major trophy this term, on alert after seemingly saying he is unsure which club he’ll be at next season. While Chelsea and Manchester City are also keen on the Argentine superstar, the Red Devils are the only outfit that can feasibly afford the recent Ballon d’Or runner-up.

Man Utd meanwhile, are also reportedly tracking Arsenal and Tottenham target Morgan Schneiderlin in a possible £25m deal, who recently helped his side Southampton (11/8 top four chances) claim a famous victory at Old Trafford.

Louis van Gaal’s men feature heavily in today’s rumour reel, and they are being linked with Germany World Cup star Thomas Muller again. Despite the prolific Bayern Munich attacker saying he wanted to stay in the summer, it seems he has now changed his mind.

Former Red Devil rebel Ravel Morrison look set to join Serie A side Lazio, according to reports.

United’s bitter rivals Liverpool (5/1 top four chances) also look busy, and Lucas Leiva could be shipped off the Italy as well, with Napoli, if they manage to snap up Fabian Delph, who is out of contract at the end of the season, from Aston Villa.

But Brendan Rodgers could lose one of his own players in the summer, as Glen Johnson could leave on a Bosman, so the Reds are lining up former player Alvaro Arbeloa from Real Madrid as a replacement.

Still in the northwest of England, Man City striker Edin Dzeko is the subject of a loan bid from Stoke City, according to reports.

That could mean Peter Crouch, who is also out of contract in the summer, could be surplice to requirements, with West Bromwich Albion waiting in the wings. It is said the giant frontman wants to commit to the Potters, though.

Down in north London, Arsenal are to go head-to-head with Hamburg to sign 17-year-old Krystian Bielik from Legia Warsaw. The Gunners are apparently looking to increase an earlier bid for the Polish midfield wonderkid.

Arsenal’s rivals Spurs are hoping Emmanuel Adebayor can agree personal terms with Italian outfit Parma, but the Togo striker is reportedly demanding too much from the cash-strapped Serie A side.

And finally, former Tottenham star Jermain Defoe is not set to re-sign for his old club, according to reports, but relegation chances QPR (evens), Hull City (13/8) and Leicester City (5/6) all are interested.
