Coral’s Combined XI as Chelsea welcome Liverpool

Matt Haynes | October 29, 2015

As Chelsea prepare to host Liverpool in the Premier League, Coral compile a combined XI of players from both sides for a match which could have potentially huge implications on Jose Mourinho’s prospects. At evens, the Blues are the favourites, though new Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp will be keen to take the bragging rights.

Goalkeeper: Simon Mignolet

The Belgian’s form has improved slightly under new boss Klopp, who has given every player under his command a confidence boost. If he can keep a clean sheet against the Blues, it could well set the tone for the rest of his season.

Right back: Nathaniel Clyne

Britain Soccer League Cup
Seems to be growing with every game. After his goal against Bournemouth in the Capital One Cup last time out, he will be on a high.

Centre back: Gary Cahill

Perhaps one of the better players for Chelsea so far this season, the defender dispatched in the defeat against West Ham and offers a threat from set pieces.

Centre back: Mamadou Sakho

The Frenchman on his day is exceptional and, if he can keep Chelsea’s strikeforce quiet, he can cement his position as the Reds’ number one centre half.

Left back: Alberto Moreno

A constant threat down the left for the Reds this season so far, he can trouble the Blues and if afforded space for shots on goal, he can really test Asmir Begovic.

Central midfield: James Milner

Britain Soccer Europa League
Arguably the best player for Liverpool this term and Klopp clearly couldn’t be happier with the energetic Englishman. He can be the key man for the Reds in this match.

Central midfield: Emre Can

Another who is flourishing under his new boss and compatriot, who has installed him in his favourite position. He can go from strength-to-strength this term and faces his first big test against the champions.

Attacking midfield: Adam Lallana

It has been an encouraging campaign so far from the former Saints man, who has chipped in with goals as well. At 7/2 to score in the anytime market, he is a decent price.

Attacking midfield: Willian

Britain Soccer Premier League
Chelsea’s standout player so far this term and has virtually carried Mourinho’s side with his goals. At 11/4 to net anytime he is great value.

Attacking midfield: Philippe Coutinho

The Brazilian will relish this match, up against a Blues defence which has struggled in the opening months. If he can get in between the lines Coutinho can cause havoc.

Centre forward: Diego Costa

Simply in here because of injuries to Daniel Sturridge and Christian Benteke. However, on his day he is one of the best centre forwards in Europe and is 4/1 to break the deadlock.
