Man Utd to menace Spurs in summer?
With the January transfer clock ticking ominously for a number of teams, it appears as though Manchester United already have an eye instead on some summer signings, as a triple raid on Tottenham is tipped to occur.
Breakfast tabloids are speculating that Spurs have warned the Red Devils off defender Danny Rose, with the Old Trafford outfit said to be tracking the adaptable Doncaster-born left back who was heavily linked to Premier League Chelsea last summer.
While, Man Utd’s interest in poaching English talents from White Hart Lane may not end there, as further rumours suggest Red Devils scouts have been out in force eyeing Three Lions flavours of the month Dele Alli and Harry Kane, though both young-guns would command huge fees.
However, one target Man Utd might miss out on is silky PSG centre half Marquinhos, as papers in Spain believe the Brazilian is topping Real Madrid’s mysterious defensive wishlist ahead of four unnamed others.
Everton eyeing striker, surprise Stoke swoop
Staying up north in the Premier League, Everton are apparently on the verge of snaring Lokomotiv Moscow and Senegalese striker Oumar Niasse for a mooted fee of £13.5m, as a way to shore up their sharpshooter options ahead of any possible moves for star man Romelu Lukaku in summer.
From Merseyside to Mancunia, and Manchester City are also in the headlines, having emerged as fresh favourites to steal ahead of Chelsea in the £50m race for Toffees star John Stones. Could this have something to do with a certain Pep Guardiola? The morning gossip suggests that the Bayern Munich manager’s wife was spotted touring a Manchester school. Hmmm.
Moving to the Midlands and Stoke City may just prove the stars of this winter window, with a last-gasp transfer swoop in the works for Dynamo Kiev dangerman Andriy Yarmolenko, as Mark Hughes seeks to bolster his side after their FA Cup and Capital One Cup exits. No longer in the Potters pipeline, though, is Porto star Giannelli Imbula, with a deal for the midfielder said to be called off.
Meanwhile, at Leicester City, the Foxes have reportedly had an £11.5m offer for out-of-favour Chelsea striker Loic Remy accepted though, should the switch fall through, Crystal Palace poacher Dwight Gayle is also on Claudio Ranieri’s radar.
And finally, Northeast outfit Newcastle United are rumoured to have turned their attention away from Saido Berahino to a less expensive option in Swansea City striker Bafetimbi Gomis, while Atletico Madrid superstar Antoine Griezmann has apparently been earmarked at Chelsea to replace Eden Hazard should the Belgian depart for PSG or Real this summer.
