Coral’s Rumour Reel: Man Utd to get up Kroos and personal?
Matt Haynes | January 17, 2016
Manchester United have reportedly received encouragement from Real Madrid to make a bid for midfielder Toni Kroos, with Los Blancos keen to raise funds to sign Edinson Cavani from PSG this January following their transfer ban which starts in the summer.
This may come as a surprise to many, with the Germany international one of the most highly-rated in his position in the world, though United, 25/1 with Coral to win the Premier League, would happily accommodate him. Having signed compatriot Bastian Schweinsteiger in the summer, United may see Kroos as an ideal long-term replacement, with any fee set to be around the £30m mark.
Blues look to boost squad
Chelsea, meanwhile are understood to be tracking Crystal Palace centre back, Scott Dann as a potential replacement for 35-year-old skipper John Terry. It is unclear how long the long-serving defender will stay at the club, though it is believed Blues chiefs have already started weighing up options.
Meanwhile, the club could also move for Leicester playmaker Riyad Mahrez, with Chelsea clearly needing a spark amid fears that they may lose Belgian Eden Hazard to Real Madrid this January. Any fee would likely be upwards of £20m for the Algerian international.
One in, one out for Liverpool?
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp, according to sources, has identified Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy as a credible transfer target and could bid up to £25m for the striker who has set the Premier League alight this season, firing the Foxes to the top of the English top flight.
With Liverpool struggling for goals up front, the 29-year-old could well be a viable target if he can tranfer his scoring form to Merseyside where he would potentially link up with England colleague Daniel Sturridge.
However, Italian striker Mario Balotelli, currently on loan at AC Milan could be set for a £10m move to West Ham United, with the Hammers seeking attacking reinforcements.
