Foxes hunt Musa capture
As Claudio Ranieri’s high-flying Leicester City maintain their incredible reign at the summit of the Premier League table, the Foxes are hunting some extra firepower to ensure they finish this remarkable campaign strongly.
As part of their search, the top-flight leaders have contacted Russian outfit CSKA Moscow regarding their forward Ahmed Musa, with the Foxes keen to add to their strikeforce and have reportedly offered £14m for the rapid Nigeria international attacker.
CSKA have previously rated the talented frontman at a substantial £19m, but Leicester are hoping to snap up the 23-year-old for less, and swiftly, after former target Eder outlined his desire to remain with Sampdoria in Serie A to boost his Euro 2016 hopes this summer with Italy.
Musa has bagged 10 goals in 29 appearances for his current Russian employers so far this term, as well as 11 times in 56 international outings for Nigeria, with Ranieri seeing the striker as a potential game-changer in their pursuit of a sensational Premier League victory.
Arsenal gunning for Yarmolenko
Leicester have to keep watching their backs though, as Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal continue to push them all the way, along with Manchester City, and the London club are also tracking a new recruit to benefit their silverware search.
Dynamo Kiev ace Andriy Yarmolenko has long been linked with a move to England’s top tier, with the likes of Everton and Stoke City having been tipped to pounce for his signature before, but it seems Arsenal may win such a race.
The Gunners are reportedly close to agreeing a £23m deal for the Ukraine international wideman, who has struck 76 goals in 187 games for Dynamo, with the club chief Sergei Rebrov fearing the star’s exit due to a difficult relationship with the president.
“Other teams are interested in him..”
“I can see his progress and that other teams are interested in him but it all depends on his relationship with the president,” stated the former Ukraine midfielder, who spent time with Tottenham and West Ham United.
“If you are asking me then I don’t want to sell the player, I want to keep him in the team. But, at the end of the day, it’s all about the relationship with the president.”
Elsewhere, Chelsea are still said to be interested in acquiring Leicester’s Jamie Vardy, but the hitman is unlikely to leave a side on the cusp of top-flight history, while Stoke City are still aiming to land Porto midfielder Giannelli Imbula, despite a dispute over the player’s fee.
