Falcao, Vidal and Vermaelen feature in transfer window specials
Coral have odds on three big names to move to three big Premier League clubs before the end of the transfer window!
Manchester United, 5/1 to win the league next season under new manager Louis van Gaal have been linked with a host of top players ever since the former Netherlands boss took over at the club. One name that keeps appearing in the press is Arsenal’s centre half Thomas Vermaelen, with United short in defence. The Belgian is odds-on at 8/11 to sign for the Red Devils before the transfer window closes, after according to reports, the player said he is keen on a move to Old Trafford.
However, Barcelona may force their prices, as they hunt for a centre half to relieve Argentine Javier Mascherano, who has filled in alongside Gerard Pique for the past couple of seasons. The Catalan club are 1/1 to beat United to his signature, and have reportedly bid £10m for his services.
Meanwhile, Chilean Arturo Vidal is also said to have caught the attention of United chief Edward Woodward, with reports all summer that a potential move could cost upwards of £40m. The Premier League club have needed to bolster their midfield for a couple of seasons, and despite bringing in Marouane Fellaini on the final day of the window last summer, he has failed to make an impression. Having already added creative, deep-lying midfielder Ander Herrera to the ranks, box-to-box man Vidal could be the perfect foil. Coral have him at odds-on at 1/4 to sign before the transfer window closes.
Colombia and Monaco centre forward Radamel Falcao meanwhile, could well end up in England’s top flight, despite initial, strong interest from Real Madrid for a permanent move. It has since transpired that the Spanish outfit may have to review their financial situation, which could pave the way for a switch to Liverpool, who have cash to splash. The Reds have already had a productive pre-season, bringing in no less than seven players, however the £75m received from Barcelona for Luis Suarez is said to be burning a hole in their pockets. He is odds-on at 8/11 to sign for Liverpool before the transfer window slams shut, and perhaps surprisingly 4/1 to sign for Manchester City.
