Five Premier League in-bound transfers which could happen soon

With the summer transfer window opening at the beginning of July, there have already been some sensational switches to a number of Premier League clubs, with Manchester United recently catching Liverpool up in terms of activity. The Red Devils are 6/1 with Coral to win the Premier League.

Both clubs are still expected to be active and as a result, Coral look at five more moves which could materialise before the end of the month and our verdict, rated between one and five on the likelihood of them happening.

Edinson Cavani to Manchester United: 4/5
There seems to be strong speculation about this, especially with PSG keen on Angel Di Maria. Suggestions about a cash-plus-player exchange have been mooted and the Uruguayan centre forward would fit in well at Old Trafford, especially if he is made the main man.

With an eye for goal and ability to assist, he also has the physique to adapt to the English top flight and should the two clubs come to some arrangement, a deal could happen soon.

Charlie Austin to Newcastle United: 4/5
QPR are holding out for £15m, though there has been some considerable wrangling over his fee and the Magpies aren’t the only club interested. However, the opportunity to emulate Newcastle legend Alan Shearer could be an attraction for the player, especially with the Tyneside outfit also embarking on an ambitious recruitment campaign to pursue a European place in the league.

Gonzalo Higuain to Liverpool: 3/5
According to reports, the Argentine striker is keen to join the Reds, though there are a number of clubs circling and it may result in who makes an offer and whether this prompts a bidding war. Should Brendan Rodgers decide to pounce, it is likely to be successful, though it could all come down to timing.

William Carvalho to Arsenal: 3/5
You just never know with Arsene Wenger, who has said recently that he may sign “one or two” more players in the window. He was thought to be keen on the Sporting Lisbon player following the midfielder’s performance at the Under-21 Championship with Portugal, however he has been on the Frenchman’s radar for a couple of years.

Jordy Clasie to Southampton: 5/5
If reports are to be believed, this is a definite, especially after Morgan Schneiderlin’s departure to Man Utd. The 24-year-old midfielder is also a compatriot of Dutch boss Ronald Koeman and would join ex-Feyenoord teammate Graziano Pelle at St Mary’s.
