Ghana attacker Andre Ayew linked with Premier League summer switch

Marseille star Andre Ayew is being heavily linked with a move to the Premier League next summer, as the forward has reportedly rejected a new contract, meaning he’ll be available on a bosman. He made Coral’s starting XI team of foreign-based stars who will be free agents at the end of the season.

A whole host of side’s in the English top-flight are tracking the talented Ghanaian, with the likes of Merseyside duo Liverpool and Everton, as well as Swansea City, Hull City and West Ham United interested.

Primarily a left winger, Ayew has played in all 10 of his club’s Ligue 1 matches so far this term scoring twice and setting up three. Incidentally, since his new boss Marcelo Bielsa played him for more than 85 minutes, L’OM have won eight games in a row.

The southern coast French side are amazingly top of the table by seven points, ahead of European giants PSG, and have smashed in 25 goals.

However, despite that, Ayew is still seemingly reluctant to sign a new deal. It is reported that the 24-year-old wants £50k-a-week, but that demand would break Marseille’s wage structure.

Tabloids suggest that 11/10 top four chances Liverpool would be the ideal place for the forward, who can also play in a central role, as new Reds signing Mario Balotelli has yet to impress. The Italian has been unable to find his first Premier League goal for the club, and missed a sitter in the most recent match against QPR.

Belgium’s World Cup star Divock Origi is to return to Anfield in the summer, though, after being loaned back to the team he was signed from, Lille. But Brendan Rodgers is still trying to desperately fill the void left by Luis Suarez.

Liverpool only managed 10 goals from seven league games prior to that 3-2 win over the Hoops, with occasionally rested Raheem Sterling the top scorer with just three.

Eccentric Argentine Bielsa, who has taken to drinking (and even sitting on) coffee in recent fixtures, has certainly got the best out of Ayew and his new side Marseille this season.
