Ghana attacker Ayew seeking Premier League move, with Swans keen

Following quotes from Marseille attacker Andre Ayew that he would be honoured to play in the Premier League, the likes of Swansea City, Newcastle United and Everton (7/4 for a top 10 finish) are being linked with a summer move for him.

The French-born Ghana international, whose contract with 100/1 title chances L’OM is up at the end of the season, recently said: “I have had a lot of different offers from different countries, but I will have to discuss with Marseille.

“I will make a decision soon, and look at the offers that are coming in and decide what is best for my future. The Premier League is the best league in the world today, and it would be an honour play there.

“I talk to a lot with my friends who have played there. Samuel Eto’o, Alex Song, [and former Marseille teammates] Samir Nasri [and] Joey Barton have all given me great advice about the Premier League.

“I am still in contract with Marseille, so I cannot give names of clubs, but there has been contact.”

However, other teams such as Tottenham and Bundesliga clubs Wolfsburg and Borussia Dortmund have also been linked with the Black Stars talent.

Ayew, 25, has been one of the stars for Marcelo Bielsa’s Marseille this season in Ligue 1, despite their recent dip in form. He has managed to net seven times this term, including four in his last seven, and made five assists, mainly from the left wing position.

The 63-capped Ghanaian, who is the son of legendary former Black Stars player Abedi Ayew Pele, also perhaps fuelled more speculation, by saying: “All my life I have been a Liverpool fan. When I was young I was watching the Liverpool games.

While he added: “Steven Gerrard is my favourite player. It will not be easy to see him leave in the summer, but we all need a new challenge.”

Of Ayew were to make a move to the Premier League, he could also be following his manager Bielsa, who has been linked with the West Ham United position in recent weeks.
