Man City have second in sight as QPR visit in the Premier League

Manchester City are heavily odds-on at 2/9 with Coral to beat QPR in the Premier League, and will want to finish as close to recently crowned champions Chelsea, as they possibly can.

They are currently second only on goal difference, though third place Arsenal have a game in hand on them. Manager Manuel Pellegrini may only have these next three games to prove that he is worthy of staying on for another year, as the Chilean failed to win a trophy this season, including losing the Community Shield against Arsenal.

He will be relying on the sharp goal-scoring instinct of Sergio Aguero, who dispatched last time out at White Hart Lane against Tottenham, and the Argentine striker is 5/2 to break the deadlock, after an exceptional performance against Spurs.

Man City’s January striker signing, Wilfried Bony, has already scored against QPR this term, grabbing a last-minute equaliser for Swansea against the R’s, and if he features will have an eye on increasing his tally. The Ivory Coast frontman is 3/1 to net last.

Encouragingly for second-bottom club QPR, they held City to a 2-2 draw in the reverse fixture, with their goals coming courtesy of Charlie Austin, and a Martin Demichelis own-goal. Austin has done incredibly well for the Hoops this term, and is the fourth highest Premier League scorer with 17 goals.

He is great value in the anytime market with an 11/4 price, though Aguero who bagged a brace in west London is 2/1 to net two or more. In City’s last home match; a 3-2 win over Aston Villa, Aleksandar Kolarov and Fernandinho added extras to Aguero’s opener, and they are 6/1 and 5/1 respectively in the anytime market.

QPR fought valiantly in their last match away against Liverpool, though it was to no avail. Dutchman Leroy Fer grabbed what was an equaliser at the time, and is 4/1 in the anytime market, while Matt Philips, who has looked impressive of late, is 11/2 in the same market.
