Man City to score in both halves when visiting in-form Spurs

Not only are Manchester City averaging as good as three goals per game in the Premier League this season, but they are making a good habit of sharing their goals across the first and second periods of fixtures.

Ahead of their visit to Tottenham, Manuel Pellegrini’s men have scored in both halves of seven of their last nine top-flight games and looking further back, in 13 of their last 18 in the Premier League.

This includes the reverse fixture at the Etihad, which Man City won 6-0 and an odds-against price that the Premier League title favourites score in both halves again looks well worth taking advantage of.

Tottenham are much improved since their heavy loss at the Etihad though, taking 16 points from a possible 18. This means that this showdown at White Hart Lane is between the Premier League’s most in-form teams.

Second-half displays have been especially vital to this run, with the pair scoring seven goals between them in their last fixtures, with none coming before half time.

All of Spurs’ last six goals have come in the second 45 minutes, while Man City have netted at least once after the break in eight of their last nine fixtures in all competitions.

It is 6/4 in the Premier League odds that both teams score in the second half at White Hart Lane.

In terms of match betting, Man City are favourites at 10/11, Spurs can be backed at 3/1 and the draw is available at 11/4.

A lot of eyes will be on Emmanuel Adebayor as he prepares to face his former club and he is 13/2 to net the opener against Man City, while being priced at 15/8 to strike in the 90 minutes.

The negative to these bets is that he has still not scored a league goal at White Hart Lane this season.
