Was at one stage nailed on to scoop this award, and led at a canter, though having struggled with injury all season; further testament to his achievements, he now will not play again in April and is, therefore 12/1 to be crowned leading marksman.
Reflect on his brilliant season so far below
He was the lead English scorer in the Premier League at one point, and his goals have kept QPR well and truly in the fight for relegation this season.
Currently on 17 strikes, odds of 33/1 are actually quite respectable, and might be worth a small punt, though Austin’s club face a relatively hard run-in.
Considering the Frenchman has played less than half a season so far, his haul of 14 goals is actually remarkable.
With the Gunners primed to make a late title challenge and in the running to retain the FA Cup, Giroud’s contributions will continue to be key. He has odds of 40/1 to claim the award, and having scored multiple braces while he has played, you just never know.
Arguably one of the signings of the season, the Chilean is also on 14 goals and has odds of 50/1 to win the prize, though has been playing from wide areas since Giroud returned, and has found his chances limited.
Much more than a goalscorer, Sanchez is well-liked for his work rate, willingness to track back, interplay, and assists. Check out footage of him in action below!
