Resurgent Norwich tipped to take the spoils against Swansea

After spending the first couple of months of the 2013/14 Premier League campaign mired in relegation trouble, things are finally looking up for Chris Hughton and his Norwich charges.

The Delia Smith-powered East Anglians have won three of their last five games in the top flight and are unbeaten at their Carrow Road home since losing 3-1 against Chelsea at the start of October.

Visiting boss Michael Laudrup was bang on the money when he stated that it was a bad time to meet the men in yellow and the opposite applies to the Dane’s stalling Swansea side.

The best the Valleys can offer have won just two of their 11 games in all competitions since the middle of October and three of their last five fixtures have ended in defeat.

Swansea qualified for the last 32 of the Europa League in midweek, despite going down to a one goal loss in Switzerland against St Gallen and with continental exertions taking their toll on Laudrup’s side, a third Norwich home win in a row at 13/8 looks the way to play here.

Hughton’s much-heralded summer signings have taken time to bed into English football, but both midfielder Leroy Fer and striker Gary Hooper have three Premier League goals apiece now and both bagged last time out in the 2-0 win at West Brom.

With the Dutchman yet to fire before the 80th minute for his new club, former Celtic star Hooper is the pick to repeat his efforts at the Hawthorns and grab his third opener of the season against the Swans at 6/1 odds.

Both of these teams have been involved in six-goal thrillers in the Premier League in the past five weeks, although Swansea’s 3-3 draw at home to Stoke was a hell of a lot more creditable than Norwich’s annual Anfield thumping, where they lost 5-1 courtesy of Luis Suarez – the scourge of the Canaries.

However, four of these sides’ last six games have produced two goals or less, an eventuality that can be backed at 8/11 here.
