Coral’s rumour reel
Jose Mourinho could be eyeing reuniting Zlatan Ibrahimovic with his former PSG striker partner at Old Trafford, with Edinson Cavani to Manchester United linked on today’s back pages.
Despite an important triumph over Tottenham at the weekend, United have failed to see out games recently, so the addition of another elite striker could provide the extra goals to see the Manchester outfit rocket up the table.
Cavani to Man Utd?
Mourinho could offer the Uruguay forward a way out of the French capital if Cavani fails to agree a new deal at the reigning Ligue 1 champions – reports suggest.
Cavani has netted 20 in as many outings this term and is seen as the long term PSG replacement for Ibrahimovic. However, protracted contract talks are yet to prove positive and have reportedly alerted Mourinho.
Now plying his trade with the Red Devils, Zlatan partnered Cavani in Paris – collecting three league titles together.
With the Uruguayan’s contract running out in 2018, the French giants could be tempted to pull the trigger and cut their losses by getting a large fee in the coming winter window or later next year.
Pulis to pounce for McCarthy?
Reports suggest James McCarthy is West Bromwich Albion’s top target this January, with Ronald Koeman ready to let the Republic of Ireland leave Goodison Park.
Baggies boss Tony Pulis was after the Everton man this summer, but both parties failed to find common ground over a fee.
Pulis will return with a £15m bid next month, while the Welshman has also eyed Morgan Schneiderlin – according to reports.
Handanovic considers City switch?
Inter Milan goalkeeper Samir Handanovic may want to leave the San Siro club if they fail to qualify for the Champions League. Stefano Pioli’s outfit currently sit eighth, floating in mid-table mediocrity.
Pep Guardiola was reportedly interested in the Slovenian this summer, but was put off by the price the Sky Blues were quoted.
Claudio Bravo has far from impressed since his arrival in England from Barcelona, while Handanovic has been one of the most solid goalies in Europe for some time now.
