Coral’s rumour reel
According to multiple reports, Europe’s big boys are looking to swoop for England’s frustrated centre midfield general, with Eric Dier to Bayern Munich linked on today’s back pages.
The former Sporting Lisbon player has lost his place to Spurs signing Victor Wanyama and is looking for a way out of White Hart Lane.
Dier to Bayern Munich?
Unhappy with his limited playing time, it seems German giants Bayern Munich could look to land the solid, versatile player. Instead of partnering Wanyama in the Lilywhites’ centre, Mousa Dembele has been favoured ahead of Dier.
Both Daniel Levy and Mauricio Pochettino will be reluctant to let 22-year-old Dier leave north London. However, Levy could be tempted to do business in the knowledge the club could make a huge profit on the £4m they paid Sporting two-and-a-half years ago.
Bayern reportedly had an approach rejected in the summer after being impressed with Dier’s performances at Euro 2016, and Carlo Ancelotti’s Bavarian outfit.
Chelsea are also thought to be interested in Dier, seeing him as a long term replacement for Nemanja Matic.
Barkley Spurs bound?
Ross Barkley is reportedly on an attacking list of targets eyed by Tottenham to provide greater support for Harry Kane.
Spurs have mad an early tentative enquiry into acquiring the Liverpool born 23-year-old, who has struggled to find his feet under new Toffees boss Ronald Koeman – according to reports.
Barkley’s contract expires at the end of next season, but will not be let to leave cheaply. A rumoured £35m price tag has been slapped on the local lad, who made his Everton debut at just 18.
Reds after Acheampong?
Staying in Merseyside, and Liverpool are after considering a move for Anderlecht winger Frank Acheampong.
The Ghana star has been scouted various times throughout this campaign and Reds fans will get a chance to see him play at he Farcia Cup of Nations next month.
