Rumour Reel: Mourinho eyes Allen, Reds want Wijnaldum while Bayern keen on Koscielny

The summer transfer window officially opened on July 1st, and clubs have wasted no time chasing down their targets one by one, as they look to complete some of their business with the upcoming Premier League campaign fast approaching.

Mourinho eyes Allen

You would have to go back 52 years to find a player that directly switched from Manchester United to Liverpool, but according to reports, Joe Allen could end the record.

Francesco Guidolin’s Swansea City are keen to take Allen back to the Liberty Stadium, but United are now reportedly in pole position to seal the Welshman’s signature. The playmaker impressed at Euro 2016, operating as the heartbeat of Wales’ impressive campaign, and was in many people’s team of the tournament selections.

Meanwhile, aside from the consistent link to Paul Pogba, the Red Devils have been linked to West Ham United starlet Reece Oxford. A move for the 17-year-old would likely cost around £15m, after making an impressive start to his career when breaking onto the scene in east London.

Reds want Wijnaldum

Liverpool have jumped to the head of the queue in pursuit of Newcastle United midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum, and are reportedly confident of wrapping up a deal this week.

The Netherlands international attacker has attracted interest from a variety of Premier League sides, and only joined the Northeast club last summer for £14.5m.

Klopp is keen to add the Dutchman to his squad before heading off to the USA for pre-season training, but Newcastle have slapped a £27m price tag of Wijnaldum, which the Anfield side want to reduce to £20m.

Bayern keen on Koscielny

With Medhi Benatia joining Juventus, Bayern Munich reportedly want to add Laurent Koscielny to their ranks after talks with Arsenal over a new £90k-a-week deal broke down.

The Bavarian giants have already added Mats Hummels to their roster and, with the addition of Koscielny, would sure up a defence that was highlighted as a point of weakness last term.
