With the January transfer window swiftly approaching during the winter period, many top-flight clubs are on the lookout for new signings to give their respective squads a boost for the remainder of the campaign.
One such side is Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham, who are targeting a high-profile Real Madrid star, so read on for the latest rumour reel insight…
Spurs make Isco move
Spain international playmaker Isco had endured a frustrating campaign start under Zinedine Zidane at the Bernabeu, but has recently forced himself into a more promising position, starting five of the last six games.
Nevertheless, he is entering the final 18 months of his current contract with the reigning European champions, and Tottenham are set to swoop for his services on loan during the January transfer market.
Pochettino reportedly enquired about the Spaniard in the summer but Los Blancos were unwilling to offload their man, but the Argentine coach is now confident he can land Isco and significantly bolster his London team for their Premier League title challenge.
The 24-year-old has netted just twice in nine outings so far this term, but he could soon be lining up for the Londoners at White Hart Lane as Spurs make Isco move for the winter window.
Man Utd continue Guedes pursuit
Manchester United have long been linked with Benfica wonderkid Goncalo Guedes, with the Red Devils having sent scouts to watch him perform in Portugal earlier in the current campaign.
The 19-year-old has risen to prominence after coming through the youth ranks at the Estadio da Luz, now cementing himself as a key component for manager Rui Vitoria.
Though Old Trafford boss Jose Mourinho is very keen to bring the youngster to the red half of Manchester, with his impressive showings this season producing three goals and six assists in 18 league appearances.
Guedes, like other promising Portuguese players before him, has been dubbed ‘the New Ronaldo’ for his dazzling outings and Man Utd will hope to avoid missing out on his signature as he looks like one for the future.
