But, it appeared as though the idea was for Dortmund’s highest scoring dangerman to make a lethal and potential Premier League-winning partnership with Aguero.

Now gossip suggests the African attacker will instead replace the Argentine. Doubts over Aguero’s Etihad future emerged after the Aguero was benched for the big game with Barcelona.

Always among the front-runners for the PL golden boot, it would be a Real shock if the Citizens were to dispense with his services. But, rumour has it, that none other than Real Madrid could soon be sniffing around the South American sharpshooter.

Real make move for Juve’s Dybala?

Speaking of Real, we now head to Spain and Italy following reports that Los Blancos also have their eye on another Argentine attacker – Juventus’ Paulo Dybala.

Since his summer 2015 switch from Palermo, the well-rounded forward has drawn plenty of praise after netting 19 times for the Old Lady last term.

With thee Serie A strikes notched already this season, it seems Madrid may be ready to pounce, with reports suggesting they will place a whooping offer of around €100m for the 22-year-old, but with the bait for Juve that he will only arrive at the Bernabeu in 2018.

Dybala has been tipped as a target for several Premier League clubs in the past, including rivals Man City and Manchester United. So Los Blancos would be unlikely to get a free run at the graceful goal getter.

In more Madrid news, Real are also believed to be keeping tabs on Dortmund tactician Thomas Tuchel, with the manager having restored BVB to being a Bundesliga force.
