Coral’s Rumour Reel
There’s tasty tabloid gossip to warm your cockles on an autumnal Monday morning, as Coral round up the best of the speculation in another Rumour Reel!
Joe Hart to Chelsea and Man Utd interest in Grimaldo are eyecatching headlines from press at home, abroad and online, so let’s learn about these in more detail…
Hart to Chelsea?
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola may have kicked England goalie Hart to the curb, but Blues boss Antonio Conte made a return to Turin at the weekend where he witnessed the Etihad exile in net. Torino beat Fiorentina 2-1.
Conte’s presence in his native Italy has sparked speculation that he could be lining up a future move for Man City outcast Hart, 29.
Rumours persist that current Blues first-choice Thibaut Courtois, who had the highly quoted stat going into this past weekend’s round of Premier League mmatches of the worst save percentage in the division, wants to return to Spain as he excelled at Atletico Madrid.
Should the Belgium stopper or Bosnia counterpart Asmir Beggovic leave Stamford Bridge, then Chelsea shall certainly need a replacement and Hart has huge experience with over 300 English top-flight games under his belt.
Man Utd interest in Grimaldo?
Manchester United, meanwhile, could be looking at bringing in some competition for Luke Shaw in the form of Benfica left Alex Grimaldo, according to reports.
Despite an apparent release clause of £51m in his contract with the Lisbon giants, the 21-year-old Spain youth international has been highly-rated for a number of years.
Born in Valencia, Grimaldo spent time in the Mestalla’s academy as well as at Barcelona where he played for the B team.
Red Devils fans will fondly remember diminutive full back Denis Irwin, and similar pocket rocket Grimaldo is thought to be being scouted with a view to Jose Mourinho’s men tabling a bid for him.
