Coral’s rumour reel

The transfer window may be closed for now but, while the Premier League season continues into matchweek six, top-flight clubs are still looking ahead and planning future deals for the winter window.

Man City move for Bonucci

This includes Pep Guardiola and Manchester City, who are reportedly upping their interest in Juventus and Italy international centre back Leonardo Bonucci – a player they tried to sign in the summer in light of his Euro 2016 performances.

Guardiola has been rocked by the latest injury to skipper and Belgium defender Vincent Kompany, as he hobbled off on his return outing for the club for another career setback, forcing a Man City move for Bonucci.

The 29-year-old Old Lady enforcer would bring great defensive stability to the Etihad alongside ball-playing centre back John Stones, with usual full back Aleksandar Kolarov having deputised in the heart of the rearguard early this current campaign.

Bonucci was one of the stars for current Chelsea boss Antonio Conte’s Azzurri side on French soil this past summer, but the Sky Blues may have to fork out a similar sum to that of which they paid for Stones earlier this year to land his services.

AC Milan rival Red Devils for Isco

Manchester United have been linked heavily with a big-money move for Real Madrid playmaker Isco, but Jose Mourinho’s side are set to face stiff competition for his signature in January if reports are to be believed.

Isco is being lined up by both AC Milan and Man Utd according to reports.

Italian outfit AC Milan are now said to be interested in his acquisition and will rival the Red Devils for his services come the winter window, with the 24-year-old being highly sought after in the coming months.

The Spain international attacking midfielder has seemingly become surplus to requirements at the Bernabeu under French boss and club icon Zinedine Zidane, who has rarely afforded him any game time during the course of this term.

Isco has managed to feature for just 110 minutes this campaign and could be keen on ending his Los Blancos nightmare in January, when Man Utd and the Rossoneri will be waiting to pounce.

Benzema back on Gunners’ radar

With each passing transfer window, Arsenal fans grow increasingly frustrated at Arsene Wenger’s lack of motivation to go out and spend big on a new frontman, but the Gunners are being linked with a swoop for Madrid marksman Karim Benzema once again.

After years of speculation, Wenger could finally pull the trigger on a £40m bid for Benzema.

The banished France international has been previously tipped for a switch to the Emirates and it seems Wenger is set to up his pursuit of the La Liga finisher in January, in a bid to boost his chances of finally winning the Premier League again.

Zidane may not want to part ways with Benzema right now, but for the right price, he my be tempted into such a deal, for the attacker who has netted once in five appearances so far this season.
