Spurs to ring changes for Hoops’ Harry return

One of the most traveled football managers, Harry Redknapp goes back to one of his old stomping grounds; White Hart Lane, as his rejuvenated QPR side take on Tottenham.

At 7/1 for the win, the Hoops are outsiders for their first away trip back in the Premier League, and Redknapp will be looking for an improvement on their performance from last time out, when they lost 1-0 at home to Hull City. Charlie Austin, who couldn’t convert from the penalty spot, is 11/4 to right his wrong and net at anytime.

Spurs, however, who are odds-on at 4/9 for the victory, will be looking to build on their win at West Ham last time out, when new signing Eric Dier scored the only goal. He is 8/1 to continue his form and find the net at anytime.

Redknapp could hand a debut to Chilean Mauricio Isla, who is said to be key to QPR’s new 3-4-1-2 formation, in a right wing back berth. The 26-year-old featured at the World Cup for his country and is blessed with pace, energy and a handy right foot. If namesake and Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino hands Ben Davies his bow, the left back could face a stern test.

Emmanuel Adebayor, Christian Eriksen, Younes Kaboul, Aaron Lennon and Etienne Capoue could return for the home team, having been rested for the club’s first leg Europa League qualifier against AEL Limassol in Cyprus. Adebayor is 3/1 to open the scoring, and pick up where he left off at the end of last term.

However, should Spurs have a problem breaking the Hoops down, Spaniard Roberto Soldado may be utilised, after he found the net in midweek and is 7/2 to open the scoring.

QPR have had the benefit of a full week of coaching from Glenn Hoddle, who has joined Redknapp’s backroom staff, and could turn out to be the club’s signing of the season. Renowned for a having an astute football brain, his knowledge and experience could help keep QPR in the Premier League. If he can help to get the best out of Loic Remy, it could turn out to be a wise move, with the French striker 8/1 to score first.
