Spurs a super bet to sink Liverpool

Tottenham have enjoyed a great start to the new season, and rate a decent bet at 6/4 with Coral to maintain their unbeaten record with victory over Liverpool at White Hart Lane (1.30pm KO, Live on Sky Sports 1).

Spurs have impressed with victories over West Ham United and QPR, keeping clean sheets in both.

They seem a far more settled side under Mauricio Pochettino, and a completely different outfit to the one that saw Liverpool do the double over them last season.

The Reds beat them 9-0 on aggregate in those games, which included a 5-0 thrashing in this fixture. However, that was when they had Luis Suarez scoring virtually every time he got the ball, and they seemed to lack any real cutting edge without him when readily brushed aside 3-1 by Manchester City at the Etihad earlier in the week.

Spurs had also beaten Liverpool on five consecutive occasions at home prior to last season’s drubbing, and I strongly fancy them to secure all three points in what promises to be a cracking encounter.

Set-piece expert Christian Eriksen looks a bit of value at 11/4 with Coral to net anytime, and Spurs to win 3-1 looks worth a small punt at 18/1.

In the day’s other game, Arsenal look a rock solid bet at 4/5 to win their away game at Leicester (4pm KO, Live on Sky Sports 1).

The Gunners have made a solid, if unspectacular, start to the season after impressing so much in the Community Shield, and have a terrific record against sides in the bottom-half of the league.

They picked up 28 points from a possible 30 in their away games against such opposition last season, with only West Brom able to stop them securing a full house of wins.

Nine of those victories also saw Arsene Wenger’s side win by more than a goal and, despite injury worries, it’s very hard to see them not running out comfortable victors over the Foxes.

Aaron Ramsey has scored four in his last five matches, and netted in both Arsenal’s league games this season.

The 23-year-old is looking stronger and sharper than ever, and backing him to get a goal anytime and the Gunners to win at the 11/5 on offer with makes plenty of appeal.

Best bets:
Spurs v Liverpool
Spurs to win – 6/4
Eriksen to score anytime – 11/4
Spurs to win 3-1 – 18/1

Leicester v Arsenal
Arsenal to win – 4/5
Ramsey to score anytime and Arsenal to win – 11/5
