Sturridge and Aguero a steal at 3/1 in anytime scorer double
Coral are offering tasty odds of 3/1 for both Daniel Sturridge and Sergio Aguero to net anytime in the opening round of Premier League fixtures.
The Premier League season is now within touching distance and Coral have conjured up some eye-catching scorer specials for the new campaign, including this brilliant banker of Daniel Sturridge and Sergio Aguero at 3/1 to score anytime.
Liverpool come out of the blocks against a Southampton side they have plucked of their best players. After netting on his first appearance at the World Cup this summer, Sturridge will enter this new season brimming with confidence he can take over the spotlight from the departed Luis Suarez.
Southampton’s most reliable defender last term, Dejan Lovren, now finds himself at Anfield and that’s a bad omen for the Saints who have done precious little to replace him.
Sturridge, 24, has 31 goals in 43 league appearances for Liverpool since his move in January 2013, a goal return which has catapulted him to become England’s number one striker.
Brendan Rodgers’ Reds had the second strongest home record last season behind champions Manchester City and Sturridge was only second, to then teammate Suarez, in the scoring charts with 21 goals.
With a supporting cast that features Philippe Coutinho, Adam Lallana, Lazar Markovic and the evasive Raheem Sterling, there is bound to be an abundance of chances for the Three Lions forward to dispatch.
Meanwhile, Manchester City begin their title defence against the busiest team in the summer transfer window thus far, Newcastle United. Aguero was on target on the opening day of last season which was also against the Magpies, though at the Etihad.
This time around they kick-off at St James’ Park and the Argentine attacker will be hungrier than ever to find the net and put to bed some of his injury problems from last season.
World Cup finalist Aguero still managed a phenomenal 17 goals in 23 appearances last season and, at 26 years of age, is a scary prospect for Premier League defences fully fit and entering his prime.
City will be looking to bounce back from their Community Shield defeat last week at the hands of Arsenal; however, Aguero did not feature in that game and will be raring to go for this fixture.
Spanish pair David Silva and Jesus Navas, plus Yaya Toure and Samir Nasri are on hand to feed the stocky frontman, so the chances of Newcastle’s defence coping with City’s attacking prowess are slim.
