Premier League tips for weekend clashes

This intriguing Premier League season continues this weekend with plenty of promising match-ups from Friday night to Sunday evening, as the top-flight table starts to take shape ahead of matchweek five.

Liverpool’s visit to Stamford Bridge for a battle with Chelsea is the stand-out fixture of the weekend, as they look to capitalise on a fresh week due to their absence from European competition, while Manchester City and Manchester United are in action again after their derby duel last time out.

So, read on and see what Coral’s latest Premier League tips for the weekend clashes are…

Coutinho to strike anytime against Chelsea

The weekend’s top tier tussles kick-off with a tasty meeting between blue and red rivals Chelsea and Liverpool, as the latter travel to the capital aiming to repeat their success of last season.

Brazilian playmaker Philippe Coutinho was utilised as a late substitute in the 4-1 rout of champions Leicester City but, having bagged a brace in this fixture last term, he is a tasty 11/4 to dispatch again anytime at Stamford Bridge for Jurgen Klopp’s travelling Merseysiders.

West Ham to oust West Brom at The Hawthorns

West Ham United v AFC Bournemouth - Premier League - London Stadium

Both West Bromwich Albion and West Ham United come into their 3pm meeting on Saturday in less than encouraging form, with the two sides without a win in four and three outings respectively in all competitions.

Although, the Hammers will be boosted by their solid head-to-head record, having lost to the Baggies just once in their previous five encounters, and they enter proceedings at 17/10 for three away points at The Hawthorns.

Mahrez to continue run anytime over Burnley

Watford v Leicester City - Barclays Premier League - Vicarage Road

Champions Leicester City bounced back from their Liverpool defeat in midweek when winning their first-ever Champions League outing, with Riyad Mahrez netting twice in a comfortable 3-0 victory over Club Brugge.

Claudio Ranieri’s Foxes will hope to bring that form into their Burnley battle on home soil and last season’s PFA Player of the Year Mahrez is a promising 5/4 to get on the scoresheet again anytime in his latest domestic appearance.

Arsenal to down Hull and both score

Arsenal Chivas Guadalajara Soccer

Hull City have not managed to overcome Arsenal since 2008, including memorably throwing away a two-goal lead in the FA Cup final two seasons ago, and their hapless fixture run looks set to continue.

Arsene Wenger’s Gunners have somewhat got back on track after their opening day defeat to Liverpool, including wins over Watford and Southampton, though they have been leaking goals and are 5/2 to triumph here while both teams score.

Man City to hit four past Bournemouth

Sergio Aguero has already helped himself to two Champions League hat-tricks this season.

Sergio Aguero has already helped himself to two Champions League hat-tricks this season.

Pep Guardiola’s reign at Man City couldn’t be going any better, overseeing seven straight victories to maintain a perfect start to the season.

The Sky Blues hit four and five goals in their two meetings with Bournemouth last term and, with their attackers in such fine form of late, Guardiola’s side are therefore a tasty 27/10 to fire in four or more again this weekend.

In-form Lukaku to bag brace or better over Boro

West Bromwich Albion v Everton - Premier League - The Hawthorns

Everton have won the last three consecutive meetings with Middlesbrough and are unbeaten in this fixture since 2006, giving Ronald Koeman’s Toffees plenty of cause for optimism ahead of the latest match-up at Goodison Park.

Belgian frontman Romelu Lukaku was on target against Boro in a League Cup clash last term and, after his 11-minute hat-trick over Sunderland last time around, he is 5/1 to bag a brace or more again on home turf.

Ibrahimovic to dispatch double past Watford

Manchester United v Southampton - Premier League - Old Trafford

The Red Devils hold a truly superior record over Watford, having incredibly prevailed in the last 11 successive clashes with their next opponents, stretching back to 1987.

Mourinho’s men will be hoping to bounce back from their derby day defeat domestically in Sunday’s midday kick-off, and reliable marksman Zlatan Ibrahimovic is 7/2 to dispatch a double or more at Vicarage Road.

Long to strike last in Swansea meeting

Soccer Euro 2016 Belgium Ireland

Following strong showings for the Republic of Ireland at Euro 2016, Southampton striker Shane Long is so far without a goal since returning to Premier League duties, but that could be set to end on Sunday.

The Tipperary-born poacher netted the winner over Swansea City last season and is 7/2 to finally get off the mark this campaign by bagging the game’s last goal at St Mary’s.

Crystal Palace to topple Stoke and both score

Crystal Palace v AFC Bournemouth - Premier League - Selhurst Park

Alan Pardew’s Crystal palace are 7/2 to overcome Stoke City with both teams scoring at Selhurst Park, and recent fixture history suggest it’s well worth backing these odds.

The Eagles have won the last four straight meetings with the Potters, including three times last term, with three of those four clashes having ended in 2-1 results.

Spurs to bag three or more against Sunderland

Tottenham Hotspur v Liverpool - Premier League - White Hart Lane

Tottenham have won their last five consecutive home meetings with Sunderland and will look to continue that rampant record this Sunday evening, while bouncing back from midweek disappointment in the Champions League.

Mauricio Pochettino’s Londoners were toppled 2-1 by Monaco at Wembley, but are 13/10 to take their frustration out on a recently poor Sunderland side by firing in three or more goals at White Hart Lane.
