Who will be top Gunner in the upcoming league campaign?

As Arsenal, available at a market best price of 7/1 to win the Premier League, prepare for their Community Shield clash with Manchester City, Coral are also offering an exciting market on the Gunners’ top scorer for the 2014/15 season.

With an array of exciting attacking talent at his disposal, Arsene Wenger will surely face selection headaches, but here are our picks for a potential leading man.

Alexis Sanchez
Newest Gunners superstar Sanchez begins life at the Emirates in fine form, following an excellent World Cup on the back of an impressive season for former club Barcelona.

The versatile Chilean can be deployed on either wing or as a second striker, and will bring further fluidity in whichever role he operates in at Arsenal.

After netting twice for his country in four appearances in Brazil, and 15 times for Barca last campaign, Sanchez is the pick of the bunch at 11/8 to be Arsenal’s top scorer this term.

Sanchez has proven through his electrifying performances for Chile that he excels as the main man and, after transferring to the Emirates for a fee believed to be around £35m, he will be hungry to prove his worth.

Olivier Giroud
French forward Giroud was Arsenal’s leading scorer last term, and the potent poacher is available at 7/4 to repeat the feat again in the upcoming campaign.

Filling Robin van Persie’s shoes would be a daunting task for most players, but the former Montpellier striker has settled well, netting 39 goals in two seasons for the Gunners.

Giroud also has an excellent record so far for Les Bleus in 2014, scoring four times in six outings. The Frenchman made a significant contribution to his country’s World Cup cause too, providing one goal and an assist.

Theo Walcott
England star Walcott seems to have been around for an age, but the Southampton academy product is still just 25 years of age.

His rapid pace has consistently terrorised Premier League defenders, and fans will be relishing the flying forward linking up with fellow fleet-footed attacker Sanchez in the new season.

At 4/1 to be top scorer, Walcott can play anywhere across the front line, and has proven his credentials as a striker, netting 74 times in his career so far.

The pacy attacker could receive further playing time in his favoured position up front this term, and look to improve on a career best tally of 21 goals in 43 appearances in 2012/13.

Joel Campbell
Costa Rica World Cup underdog hero Campbell is finally set to get his chance with Arsenal in the upcoming campaign, and is in familiar territory as a dark horse bet at 25/1 to be leading man for the Gunners.

The 22-year-old has already registered on the scoresheet in pre-season, drawing acclaim from boss Wenger, as he seeks to establish himself after a string of fine performances in Brazil.

Campbell netted eleven times last term, and famously terrorised Arsenal’s rivals Manchester United in the Champions League, whilst enjoying a successful loan spell at Greek giants Olympiakos.

There are also several other Gunners in contention for the top scorer accolade, including FA Cup goal hero Aaron Ramsey at 8/1, as well as World Cup winner Lukas Podolski and pre-season star Yaya Sanogo, who recently hit four past Benfica, who are both at 20/1.
